I have had this printer/scanner for several years now, and the only reason I would change it would be to upgrade to another model of the same type.
I like the shape of it, and although it is large, at about12" high, I like the size. It feels permanent.
The scanner is good, and I use it with Corel Paint, although you can obviously use it with other packages. Quality is high at 600 x 1200 dpi.
Oh, and it's also compatible with Macs. It connects with a USB.
The instructions for changing cartridges and doing things like head alignment all come up on a little LCD panel on the front of the machine. This is the same place you can set your paper type and number of copies.
The scanner is fab, and can do things like take a single image (eg business card) and reproduce it 12 times for you.
It takes up to A4, with the normal slidey things to accomodate smaller sizes. The only downside of the machine is that it's a bit hard to get the paper into the paper carriage at the back when you are sitting in front of the machine. I can't see why this would be, as it just slides in as in any other printer, but it seems to be the angel that you are at that stops you doing it. I find that I have to stand up every time I want to load a new wad of paper.
It comes from Epson, and the cartridges can sometimes be a bit expensive, but I've found that it doesn't mind working with refilled and comapatible cartridges.
The colour cartridge comes all in one pack, which is slightly annoying, but no different to a lot of other machines.
It also acts like a photocopyer, and works on its own.
