Advantages: high res scanner, high dpi printer, one touch copying, good level of control from the printer Disadvantages: Long time to charge ink, photo prints aren't great, BestPhoto rpm takes ages
...It's recommended to use original Epson ink cartridges for high quality prints.

I've had this all-in-one for a few years now. Bought it for a graphics projects, for which I had to do a lot of printing.
Overall this is an excellent printer for everyday things, and the regular user.
---Some specs (according to manufacturer):
22 pages per minute black 11 pages per minute colour 5760 x 1440 optimized dpi printing 1200 x 2400 dpi scanning Copy speed 15 pages per minute USB connection, PC and Mac compatible System requirements: Microsoft® Windows 98, Me, 2000, XP. Mac OS 9.1 or later, Mac OS X 10.1 or later Width: 17.1 inches Height: 10 inches Length: 17.8 inches Gross weight: 20 pounds
---Ease of use:
Installing the printer is no hassle. This thing is plug and play, newer Windows versions should have the required driver already included, so it's just a matter of you computer finding the driver and the user clicking "OK" a couple of times. If you have an older version of Windows then you will have to install with the disc provided with the printer, which is also quite hassle free. I haven't used this with a Mac before so I can't say much about it, but I should imagine being just as easy if not easier.
Next the ink cartridges must be installed. The instructions for this are very clear. There are 4 separate cartridges for each of, black, magenta, cyan, and yellow. The black cartridge is slightly larger than the other 3, to make up for the usual heavier usage of black ink.
Using the copy function is very straighforward. There are two copy buttons on the printer, one for black, one for colour. Just put whatever you want to copy onto the scanner and set the number of copies with the +/- buttons, press one of the copy buttons and off you go.
You can change quality and paper settings from the printer. However only the full range of settings for plain paper is covered, if you select any other type of paper, eg photo paper, it will use the default setting for that type of paper. This can be changed using your computer when choosing to print. But the default setting is probably the optimal setting for a particular type of paper, so it's inadvisable to change it. So this isn't really a problem.
Paper size, contrast, zoom (for scanning), reduction/enlargement (for printing), and a range of maintenance functions can all be accessed from the printer. As a photocopier it truly is very neat, in that you don't need a computer at all to use.
The interface for the computer is easy enough to use. The preferences can be viewed in a basic view for the typical user, but can also be changed to an advanced view for users who want more control over settings. Both views allows for maintenance functions, page layout, orientation, paper size, paper type, and quality type. The advanced view allows the user more control over the exact quality settings coupled with different paper types, brightness, contrast, colour control, and Epson's colour management called PhotoEnhance. You can also save your custom settings for future use.
On the printer, there is a scan button, which when pressed brings up the software for scanning up on your computer. You can then choose where to save your scan and change scan settings.
---Quality:
The scan quality on this thing is excellent. The resolution is very good at 1200 x 2400 dpi. The images produced with the highest quality setting are massive, it will fill your screen many times and take up a lot of space. But what you will have is a wonderfully scanned picture. Perfect for photo, you won't be able to tell any loss of quality. For scanning documents, the text comes out very clear and crisp.
Print quality is excellent for text and images, with the text being very sharp, and the images too.
For photos however, this printer fails a tad. It's hard to choose the exact right type of paper to use with this printer, and too get the settings right. Often the colour is a bit off when compared to the original image. It's recommended to use original Epson ink cartridges for high quality prints.
Copying is quality is good.
---Maintenance features:
Nozzle Check. This feature prints out a serious of diagonal lines in all four colours, if there are any breaks in the lines then the nozzle needs cleaning.
Head Cleaning. If the nozzle needs cleaning use this feature, you will hear a lot of noise that will last for a couple of minutes. You printer should print nicely after this. If not then use this feature again. It says that this is uses quite a lot of ink, and it does use a bit, but not loads.
Print Head Alignment. This feature helps to sort out problems with blurry prints and misalignments. I haven't used this feature before as mine hasn't shown any of the symptons before.
Status monitor 3M. This lets you check the status of the printer, wether it is ready to print, or if it has any errors. It also shows the ink levels in each cartridge.
Each of these features are operable from the printer.
---Disadvantages:
An issue is the amount of time it takes this printer to charge up ink from the cartridges, it can take up to 5 minutes. If the printer isn't used very often, you are likely to be met with ink charging before every use. But when it has finished charging it does satisfy it's specification print speeds of 22 ppm for black and 11 ppm for colour, but only on the lowest quality settings. This poses less of a pain if you are a regular printer, since each charge will produce many prints continuously
The CX5200 is large in size compared to other mulifunctional units available
The price (at the time of purchase) was not the most competitive, however the specifications were slightly better than the competition. But upon using it I don't think the better specs make much difference.
The USB cable provided is not very long, I am currently using an extension cable to have my printer only 2 metres from my computer.
The ink cartridges for this printer made by Epson, which they recommend of course, are very expensive, a set of 4 colours costs almost £50 las time I checked.
Overal this is a decent printer, but there is better. If you get a very cheap one then it's a good deal, otherwise buy something else.
Advantages: Occupies less space, excellent quality Disadvantages: Comparitively Noisy paper feeder.
The epson CX5200 is pretty much the same printer as the CX3200 but with a higher specification. The all in one includes a printer, scanner and the ability to combine these to create a stand alone (without PC) copier. The printer is very attractive, moulded in light and dark grays with smooth curves and a stylish, easy to use control panel. The printer is USB only and comes with a standard length usb and power cable. It also comes with a bundle of ... ...and scanners capabilities and a rather large manual (which is mainly due to the number of languages it contains).

The printer boasts a printing resolution of 5760 dots per inch and is capable of printing up to 22 pages per minute in black and 11 pages per minute in colour. Advantages: Speed and quality of printing Disadvantages: Inability to work when one of the ink cartridges stops working
We bought this printer for the full RRP of £149.99 about 6 months ago
We bought it to primarily take over the printing within our new business, an independent gift shop
It was easy to install, fast and reliable. It handles everyday printing, from letters to posters with ease, however when it came to scanning, it did seem to take far too long to decide on what to do. However with normal day to day printing this has proved an exellent investment. ... ...far too long to work, and costs too much in ink to make this a viable part of the printer
With so many uses, it cannot be perfect for them all, and so I recommend this product even though it can cost a fair bit in ink and stops working when one of the four colours runs out. ...

Advantages: Easy to use, quick to get started, excellent quality, fast printing. Ideal for home office use. Disadvantages: Quite large! Finding a home for the baby was difficult. Not ideal for some users, i.e. those who like photo quality.
I've come to learn that if I want a printer, my best bet is to stick with Epson. I searched all the other brands, as a break from the norm and I ended up purchasing this! From the minute I got it, I thought it was excellent ... and just before I got it I knew it wouldn't break the bank.
It's a fabulous printer, at a fabulous price, £129.00 from PC world; which I felt was exceptionally reasonable, especially for such a versitile machine.
For the ... ...a bit more features from a printer, this is the one to get!
It scans, enlarges, copies (colour & bw), edits, scans documents into word using OCR technology. It does everything I need it to do. I had a slight problem with the size of it. Then there's room for the lid to open so you can copy things and the opening at the ...

...the dye based inks that Epson has used in the past. I have owned an Epson Stylus Plus, the Stylus 1520, the 1160 and the 880. I have always regarded the Epson resolution to be of the high achievable standard of their day. And many glossy prints have gone out to friends, family and clients for high-end presentation work. But the DURABrite ink that Epson is now pushing really falls way beyond what I expected from this new generation of printer. Since ... ...glossy surface is really matted. Epson appears to be offering “new” features in their print line with the Photo RX500 which adds extra “gloss” over the inked surface to return the glossy finish back to the print. I take great exception to this “new campaign” and wish that the PC magazines would take issue with this “new and improved” ink system.
Frankly, I now could only recommend Canon’s higher end printers for speed and shear quality of the glossy ...
