Advantages: Cheap, reliable, a little beauty Disadvantages: Aged, expensive ink, slow on pictures
...The printers in the Epson Stylus range are all Inkjets, so give you good quality prints without the extravagant prices. This is my main reason for recommending them to you. In addition to this, you will find that the ‘460 has many endearing qualities, such as its capability of withstanding forces ranging from children to …well …children. Don’t get me wrong – I love the little mites, but they can get a bit annoying from ... ...of time to consider the Epson Stylus Color 460. It may not be the new kid on the block, but you can rely on it to grow old gracefully. It is true that there are more stylish printers around, with their seductive features and curves in all the right places, but how much can you count on them to be there when you need them? On the other hand, the trusty ‘460 has battled through years of modernisation and can still hold its head high. Matt ...

...the other end of the Epson helpline for dealing with my problematic printer so efficiently…twice!
When you first ring them up you do get thru’ to the usual “push button” options. I am not a great fan of this practice, preferring every time to speak to a real “live” human, but have to admit that “Yes it is an efficient way of getting the precise service you require, fairly rapidly in today’s “go ... ...look at the printer there. Epson were more than happy to check it out at a place convenient to me. Two days later it was once again all sorted!
It is inconvenient at times, when things go wrong it does frustrate us. So it was such a refreshing change to have the edge taken off my disappointment by such efficiency. I know I have used that word frequently in this op, but it is the only one that truly describes the service I received!
To conclude, ...

Advantages: Good quality output, very reliable Disadvantages: Expensive print cartridges
I've had this printer now for seven months and I really can't complain about it at all. It does everything it is supposed to, producing good quality black and white pages and reasonable quality colour pages, although there are a range of settings which mean that if you want to produce really high quality colour images, you can (although it will put quite a drain on the ink reserves). The cost of print cartridges is high, but no higher than equivalent ... ...designed to clean, align, etc. the print heads. In fact the only problem with it has been excessive noise, not when printing, but when switching it on after a long period of inaction. The machine produces all sorts of strange - and loud - noises, for a good two or three minutes, but if you print fairly regularly this shouldn't bother you too much. To sum up, there are better printers available, much better ones; but if all you need is a reliable, ...

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful Disadvantages: Very basic, cartridges hard to load at times
...reliable. I love my little Epson 460 :-)
*Ease of use*
-------------------
-One of the main reasons my family bought this printer is because we're not exactly wizzkids when it comes to computers. Infact my grandad, who bought the whole contraption has only just found out how you switch it on! Anyway... loading paper is very easy, you just pop it in the top, slide the little blue barrier on to fit the size of your paper and your away. ... ...
*Features*
----------------
-The Epson 460 is very basic. It only has head cleaning and paper ejecting as extra features. Very bog-standard.
-Printing speed is also quite slow, it takes around 45 seconds to a minute to print one sheet.
-Printout quality is reasonable, nothing special and very basic. Head cleaning needs to be done regularly for a very good printout. Once again, very basic.
My rating- *

Advantages: Good photo output, guite speedy Disadvantages: small spider legs on normal quality paper
Epson Stylus Color 460 is one of the latest range of Epson printers to hit the streets. It hails towards the budget end of the market, but is still a fine product. It is very sturdy and can take being dropped once or twice (I should know) and still work fine. The quality of output is pretty astounding for the price, you get an awful lot of printer for your 80 quid these days. Colours are reproduced well and with the paper packeage that I received ... ...from opening the box. I defy you to tell the difference between this and a more expensive model In a test of photo output, it's just so good. The driver is another plus point, it offers a decent amount of options, you can set the printer up manually, or let it do everything automatically, you get decent results whatever you do. The text output was very good, but I did notice some tiny spider legs of ink spreading the text a little, but it is only ...
