Advantages: Quality of Prints, Features Disadvantages: Dark Prints
...is very good on the Epson providing a 5760 x 1440 dpi resolution that should surfice a4 prints, although most pictures are bright and vibrant any photos taken in the dark seem to come out very dark on this printer.
Overall a great printer providing lots of separate features and still keeping print quality high.

...as a replacement for my Epson Stylus Photo R200 printer which was good but couldn't really handle the volume of photos I was printing,
The DX8400 seems great value for money at first with the Scanner, Printer and Copier all being of excellent quality.
However, if you think you have got yourself a real bargain, think again as the ink in this thing disappears very quickly. Sure, the print quality is excellent but at £40 ish for a set of ink cartridges ...

After forking out £90 for this I found, not only does it warn you about losing the warranty if you use compatibles, but it actually stops you using them. It then goes on to refuse to work with Epson cartridges. So, if you want to avoid paying out £25 every time the flimsy cartridges run out, then look elsewhere.
