I don’t exactly hate this printer, but I would not recommend it to anyone, for a number of what I think are rather important reasons. It’s ink usage is pretty terrible. I bought this printer as the ink seemed atleast somewhat reasonable, and could be purchased in four separate process colours. I...

I bought my Epson DX 5050, (just a darker grey than the DX5000), for just under £50. After reviewing other similar multifunction printers, I settled on this printer for many different reasons. The main being the price of the ink! Another print I had thought to buy would have cost £40 pounds for a...

I've had this printer for little over 6 months now and i think its a decent printer as it does most things that want or need to do. One of positives with this printer is that it has a memory card reader at the side which for some reason lets say the cable of your digi cam fails then you can...

I bought this Epson Stylus DX 5000 in Jan 2007, after my previous Epson died on me! I chose an Epson printer because I had such good use out of my old Epson C40, which was a very cheap printer that ended my lasting my 5 years! This one has yet to disappoint me. The main thing that I have really...

ProQuality, value for money, reliable

ConsOn occasions, paper does not go in straight

I've always found Epson printers to be reliable and after my last one died after 6 years of use, I bought a DX 5000 six months ago. It was easy to set up and has been very straight forward to use. The print quality is excellent, better than some lasers I've had. Makes quite a noise when it takes...

with this printer i have found that it is faster and more economical then its predecessor -it is also quieter so wether working from home or in the office (small) its not a clumsy machine - the ink is quite reasonable however it takes 4 cartrages in total (can find cheep ink on ebay if you look around)

Litter!! You have to use the head cleaning function on quite a regular basis which use a fair amount of ink, and epson ink is not cheap! Also, it seems to leak ink onto the printing paper quite often, meaning you have to clean the rollers with a cloth manually. Printing speed is slow aswell, athough in fairness, the printing quality is pretty good for documents and photos Spend a little more and get youself a Canon Pixma mp600, a far better machine.
