The Epson stylus DX6000 printer is a nice size and really compact for what it offers. Its silver/ grey colour gives the printer an extremely professional and modern look. In fact, it was its striking appearance that immediately drew me to it when shopping one afternoon in PC world with no real intention to purchase a printer that day.
I love gadgets and this printer is certainly accommodating of ... ...it has for expandable memory and external flash drives. Everything from your standard SD, MS, xD and even CF cards can be plugged into this machine for easy access to your pics. It also includes the common PictBridge port which I know is a favourite for a lot of people. The port are cleverly concealed with a cover over them. This has the added benefit of them not getting dusty. Well, I don't think it can, because ours hasn't got dusty yet.

EPSON STYLUS DX6000
The Epson stylus DX6000 printer is a nice size and really compact for what it offers. Its silver/ grey colour gives the printer an extremely professional and modern look. In fact, it was its striking appearance that immediately drew me to it when shopping one afternoon in PC world with no real intention to purchase a printer that day.
I love gadgets and this printer is certainly accommodating of my needs. I really like the numerous ports and slots it has for expandable memory and external flash drives.
Moving on, the DX6000 also has a pull out tray which folds back neatly into place, again protecting the interior of the device from unwanted dust.
You can print on an A4 sheet of paper, or alternatively, you can print on a envelope. This is great if you can't be bothered to write the address on all those Christmas card envelopes. If you want to print out on an envelope then pull out the tray and there is a switch in there to change it to print on an envelope in you wish.
The buttons on the printer on the left hand side panel seem confusing and are a bit hard to work out, but then again, if you took the time to read the instructions in full it might make things a little easier. Or after continued usage of the printer you can get to grips with the controls. Despite this, the printer is exceptional easy to use if you want to print out an A4 sheet, or do a simple A4 copy. Further, it is very unproblematic when wanted to print on an envelope because as discussed before, you just flick a simple switch and your ready to go.
I thought the LCD display was going to show me my pictures that I took but unfortunately it only shows the computers needs and how many pages you are printing. The display screen is a good function, but I cant help but think that it could be put to better use. There is a couple of colours which the coloured screen uses, but the images which are depicted are simple and it is no high definition display. Nevertheless I consider the LCD screen to still be very useful.
This printer also includes a scanner bed. Personally haven't used yet, but I should think it would be very handy if you would ever need to scan something, and I have been assured the scan is of a good quality and very quick.
If you are worrying about how to change the carriages, then don't. It is very easy to get to. It has 4 separate colour chambers which is very useful. If you just run out of 1 colour then you can replace it easily and not have to replace 3 colours just because the cyan has run out.
This DX6000 printer produces images that come out in superb quality. You wont be let down. The printer was purchased as a multi-purpose printer, letter, internet etc.. but the photos it produces on the correct paper are fantastic. I should say the speed of this printer is quite fast comparing to others printers you might have had, it doesn't take much ink, and is quiet. A big bonus, considering the last printer we used could be heard two rooms away.
The price of the printer wasn't that much, it is ranged between £50 - £60
So in all this printer is excellent, I would recommend it to anyone.
Advantages: Very easy to use...attractive...does preety much everything Disadvantages: tiny bit chunky but is a scanner so....
...which can also fit other epson printers such as D78, DX4000/DX4050, DX5000, DX5050, DX700F. But there maybe cheaper or more expensive ink for this printer. The packaging of the ink is good, lightweight, no instructions however.
The quality of any printing whether its a document or a vibrant photo is always brilliant. Documents only take aropund 2-3 seconds to print especially when being printed freuently such as 20 copies or so on. Colour takes ... ...up to 100 pages. Colour pictures appear to be better quality on glossy paper.
Ordinary Paper is around £3 for 500 sheets, glossy paper is around £5-£10 for 500.
The lcd screen is very handy as it tells and helps you about using the printer, procesing information, choosing your pictures to print from a memory stick, or plugged in camera. The lcd quality is good also as it is nice and bright and very informative, and helps you to choose options.

Advantages: good print quality, scanning easy and sharp. Disadvantages: Ink consumption unacceptable
...at my review of the Epson Stylus 6050. I've had this all in one printer approx 4 months now and used it quite a bit. The relationship has had its ups and downs and we now have a "working" relationship and both me and the printer have decided to "agree to disagree" and get on with our lives! Please read on for more info:
So what is it?
------------------
Well...its an all in one machine...printer, copier, scanner and has a card slot for printing ... ...for a full set of epson branded ones!
So who would benefit from this machine?
--------------------------------------------------------
I guess someone who doesn't want to print much but wants to scan! haha. I'm not sure who would consider the ink consumption acceptable.
Ok anything else?
------------------------
I've also noticed that if the printer isn't used for a week or so then you will need to use the print head cleaning function which ...

Advantages: Simple to use, space saving all in one solution, good software bundled Disadvantages: Ink usage is high and bulky size
Having owned our Epson Stylus DX6050 for just over a year, our verdict is that it's a great solution for our particular needs. As an all in one scanner/printer/copier I did expect that all functions would be compromised, but I have been proven wrong.
Initially we had the printer set up on a computer on our home network so we can all use it and it was very easy to setup, just load the software, and plug in the supplied USB lead. We soon found that ... ...built in which we have never used so cannot comment on.
Overall the Epson Stylus has been a good reliable printer/scanner/copier putting out good quality prints and given us great value for money. The whole family can use it, but beware the ink usage on larger full colour sheets. ...

Advantages: Easy to use and cheap to run. Disadvantages: None obvious.
I've now owned my DX6000 for a little over 2 months, using it every day, for both work and personal use. I have to say that I think it is a super piece of kit, all in all. As far as value for money goes, I reckon it is hard to beat. I have just done my first change of ink cartridge, which could not have been easier, and was impressed by the amount of work which I had done before the black cartridge ran out. The colour cartridges are still over 25% ... ...into jpegs, the quality of which is pretty damn good. I have enlarged post-card size prints up to A4, and they look lovely. It is easy to use, and whilst some may think it a bit "lumpy", it is smaller than a separate printer and scanner. It's easy to use, and not too hideous to look at. ...

Advantages: Cheaper Cartridges, Looks Smart, Good Quality Prints and Scans Disadvantages: Takes up a fair bit of space, slightly noisy!
...I finally settled for the Epson Dx6000 at a bargain price of just £75!
USEFUL FEATURES
Some useful features that I have enjoyed so far are:
- The camera card slots for ease of printing digital prints
- The LCD Screen (displaying ink levels and your pictures from any inserted card or USB device, also allowing you to use the printer standalone without a computer)
- The cheap cartridges that can be replaced by colour so that it's not necessary ... ...out!
OVERALL QUALITY
The printing quality on this machine is exceptional and you could go out and spend a whole lot more on a printer and not expect results as good as the DX6000!
The scanning quality is also of a very high standard and I am extremely pleased with the results of both!
Speed: The speed of the prints are fairly average, not too slow however not the fastest on the market either but it's certainly not a problem!

Update!
A few people have asked for more info on the printer. Well the spec can be found here: http://www.epson.co.uk/Store/Printers-and-All-in-Ones/Epson-Stylus-SX515W/Tech-Specs
It's exactly the same dimensions of my old Dx6000, 450x342x182 mm which worried me slightly at first, but the finish is in the trendy piano black and it behaves like a completely differant machine. The print speed is much greater, so interpret the 36pages per minute as fast. The quality is first rate, Ive used it to print official letters for business and it delivers a quality result. My experience of photgraphs is limited, but I haven't been disappointed using the photo paper provided with the printer. I still think the monitor is a better place to view photos though............ ...
