I bought the Epson R300 printer last week having decided I needed to print directly onto DVD's in addition to my other printing needs. Althought My previous printer (HP Deskjet 970cxi) is still functioning fine I was tired of printing labels and fiddling about attempting to centre them onto discs! The design of the Epson R300 is stylish, chunky and appealing and not a great deal bigger than my previous one. It has an LCD display which is useful for printing directly from Digital Camera Cards and works easily with the card reader making direct printing very simple. Connected by USB cable (not supplied) the first printer I installed did not work but a replacement was given and it now works fine. The printer takes 6 individual cartridges which saves throwing them away if only one colour runs out. The software that comes with the printer is simple to use and gives good results. The paper feed tray is recommended to hold only 25 sheets which is a bit of an annoyance as is the fold out post printing tray which has to be folded back in order to use the CD/DVD printing tray. I was amazed by the speed of priting on both paper, photo paper and direct onto DVD and the quality onto each medium was good. However one drawback is that priting from images saved onto my PC were not as good as those direct from my digital camera card. One solution is to upload the images back onto my camera card then plug it into the printer directly... a bit of a faff but I rarely keep printed pictures so the ones that I choose to keep are few and far between. All in all a decent printer for the money and the direct to CD/DVD printing facility is excellent

...The CD tray would not work at all when I bought this printer, but after explaining the problem to Epson customer services an epson engineer had to come round. He could not repair the problem and replaced it with a reconditioned R300 printer.
The cartridges are not yet refillable from places like cartridge world, should be in about 5 months time (waiting for licences to be granted from Epson). The cartridges I got were £12.50 Each, thats for five colour cartridges and one black one.
The CD printing is perfect and the accompanying software is excellent as you can paste from other applications such as Word, Photoshop etc.
i have only had the printer for the last 4 months it is very reliable and you can fit most memory cards into it for direct printing....

...This is a great printer with excellent quality print outs.
Fast for regular printing and very clear quality.
Not so fast when it comes to printing out those holiday snaps but if you bought a good glossy photo paper you will so pleased with the quality of the print out.
This printer has a few ports great for printing straight from your camera memory card and simply to with the printers own display panel.
This printer has the added feature of being able to print straight on to cds dvds how cool saves on buying those damn stick on labels and having to play around trying to gey them to print inside the label.
I would definatly reccomend this to anyone looking to print out there own pictures instead of going to the photo shop....

...Hi there everyone, I've bought the EpsonStylusPhotoR300 about a week ago and I must say it's ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! I used to have an Epsonstylusphoto 800 and I must say YOU CAN REALLY SEE THE DIFFERENCE!!! The resolution is great (with up to 5760 dpi !!! ) The ink cartridges are separate so you can change only one if you run out of ink!! There is also a mini Lcd screen on the right side that allows you to print your photos directly from your digital camera or even from your memory card (whichever it is!!!). This Printer is also one of the only ones from the Epson range that allows you to print directly on the surface of your CDs!! I’ve tried it and it really works!!
In about a week I’ve printed more that 50 photographs and 4 cd covers ….My only comment is FANTASTIC!!! The resolution and the texture of the photos is as good...

The first thing you notice about the Epson Stylus Photo R265 is that it's pretty large. You'd almost think it was a multifunction device, especially given it's height. As such you'll need a fair chunk of desk space to take it. That said, it's attractive... more
