I purchased the R360 to print directly onto DVDs. I purchased my printer for about £85 and it is by far the cheapest printer for the job, and one of the few that has so many additional printing features. The software includes a DVD/CD designer which is very easy to use and produces very professional results. The DVD/CD printing tray has to be individually loaded which does slow printing if you are looking to print a lot of DVDs, but if you are on a budget it’s a fair sacrifice to pay. The only down side is you don’t get a USB cable included. This is not such a problem these days as many people have already had to shell out for one for a previous printer. However, a word to the wise, if you buy the printer from PC world, don’t get ripped off by the prices of their USB cables as they often cost about £10!
The main addition to this new model is the large central screen which allows you to set up the printer and also to control print jobs if you are not printing via a pc. Below this is a covered flip-down section for memory cards. The control panel is pretty easy to use, but I tend to control printing via my pc.
In terms of standard printing, the R360 is a top loading printer and can quickly and smoothly print on a variety of papers. The printing options are pretty varied – from draft to best photo. With new ink, the print quality for documents is fantastic even on the draft setting. It takes pretty thick paper/thin card although I’ve not tested thicker card.
However, it’s when printing photos that the R360 really comes into its own. The quality, obviously dependant on the paper you use, is as close as you can get to commercial quality. The printer will accept paper ranging from matt to high gloss and everything in-between. The added flexibility of memory card ports means that you can print directly from the camera, although to be honest I prefer to check my pics on the computer before I print them.
The R360 owes its high print quality to the 6 ink cartridges required. I was concerned that these might prove pricey to replace, and Epson’s own brand cartridges ARE expensive. However, locally I have been able to buy generic replacements for £10. Each cartridge is individually replicable, so if you are buying separately, you’ll soon learn which colours you run out of first. That said, I’ve found the ink usage to be pretty low considering the quality, although I do tend to mainly use the printer as a bog standard document printer.
In terms of looks, the R360 is pretty sturdy looking. Put it this way, it ain’t gonna win any style awards. It’s not ugly, and its certainly better looking than its predecessor, the R300, but it is pretty big – standing by my measurement at about 19 cm high, 44 cm wide with a depth of about 26 cm. It’s grey-black and silver, and looks a little like the front bumper of an 80s car. It does take up quite a lot of desk space but as long as that’s not a problem, who buys a printer for looks anyway? The sturdy design is also reassuring for someone as accident prone as myself – I’ve cause the untimely demise of many a printer!
To summarise, the R360 gives you a lot for your money, not just in terms of size but also what it does. It’s no oil painting, but for the price I don’t think many other printers could come close in terms of performance.
Advantages: Great photo quality. Disc printing. Doesn't need a computer. Disadvantages: Large. Fixed print heads.
...of 10 sheets of 7x5” Epson Premium Glossy photo paper. Note that as with nearly all printers, there is no USB cable.
The lack of a USB cable will not bother most people since they will likely have a cable from the printer they’re replacing. As is becoming more common, this printer can operate completely separately from a PC by reading photos from memory cards or a compatible camera connected via the USB PictBridge interface. They work in the same ... ...best to stick to original Epson inks, which are cheaper than most manufacturers, there are compatible ones for less. Just note that your warranty will be void if anything goes wrong with them. I have used compatible inks on an Epson R200 for years and they have been absolutely fine in terms of quality, though sometimes the printer struggled to recognise the cartridges. But when a full set of genuine inks is only £30 delivered from Play.com (T080740), ...

I bought this printer not too long ago from Amazon for around £100. It is not the printer for someone for casual printing as it is quite a bit of money. However if you maybe a person who prints loads of photos then this is for you.
The printer has all of its buttons on the front including an LCD screen for previewing your photos which I find very useful so you know that the photo will look like upon printing. It sucks when you print and the photo ... ...is fast speed for casual black and white printing as well as colour. The specs claim it to do 30 per minute in black and white but I do not feel that is true. I would say around 20 typed pages. Colour printing also is fairly fast. It takes about 20 seconds for a colour photo to print which is of good quality. Not bad at all.
It uses individual Ink cartridges. They cost 6.99 each off of Epson's website but you will save by using Froogle and finding ...

Advantages: Easy to use user interface, great quality and an excellent price. Disadvantages: A little large, but it does the job.
The Epson Stylus Photo R360 is a fantastic home printer which uses Epson's newly developed technology to achieve better picture quality results. It has a 3.5inch LCD screen which you can view and display pictures from a camera or memory card.
It claims to print photos an amazing 13 second interval with a 6x4inch paper. Personally in my own experience, this printer is a great all round printer for family and home use, its great with A4 documents ... ...costs a bomb, however the Epson R360 is a very reasonable price in terms of ink replacement. You can even replace a single ink cartilage instead of buying a whole pack FOR JUST £3.59 at http://happyprinter.co.uk now you can't argue with that can you?
For overall functionality, I would recommend this printer period. However it is important to stress that for professional results to R360 does not do to job. As when printing high resolution, high colour ...
