I bought this printer not too long ago from Amazon for around £100. It is not the printer for someone for casual printing as it is quite a bit of money. However if you maybe a person who prints loads of photos then this is for you. The printer has all of its buttons on the front including an LCD screen for previewing your photos which I find very useful so you know that the photo will look like upon printing. It sucks when you print and the photo is half cut off so this prevents it.
It is fast speed for casual black and white printing as well as colour. The specs claim it to do 30 per minute in black and white but I do not feel that is true. I would say around 20 typed pages. Colour printing also is fairly fast. It takes about 20 seconds for a colour photo to print which is of good quality. Not bad at all.
It uses individual Ink cartridges. They cost 6.99 each off of Epson's website but you will save by using Froogle and finding a multi-pack. The inks last for quite a few photos also. I have not had to replace yet. It takes 6 cartridges unlike most printers that take 4. This greatly improves quality but can result in higher costs…
This printer can print up to A4 size. It can do borderless photos at A4 also which is neat. You have the ability to connect your camera right to it instead of going through your computers fussy software. That saves lots of stress trust me- it's great! It supports pretty much any memory card you can throw at it.
I use it on windows however it is Windows AND Mac compatible. I just plugged it in, installed drivers and it worked simply. The installation was very, very easy. The manual also provides very good instructions for me to install. I am ok with computers so I find most things easy.
I find I can fit about 100 pages of paper into it. I don't have to restock it much which is great. I have yet to experience a paper jam too! Woohoo!- I hate those things. Every printer I have had I swear I'd get them.
MY printer came with a one year warranty which refunds the whole thing if something goes wrong. It came with a cable which it connects via USB to your computer. It also comes with a standard UK power supply cord. It comes with the installation manual, instructions manual and the software.
CONCLUSION ============ I do have to say this printer is superb. Unfortunately the price I feel is quite high for standard users, but do not get me wrong it is worth its value. If you need a printer for printing loads of pictures/ are a photographer, then I highly recommend it. If just a family printer then you should pass I suppose to something less advanced.
