Before buying this printer I used a professional lab for all my work. I was never really happy with the quality of black & white digial prints on colour paper.
The black & white prints from this printer are as good as I could get spending hours in the darkroom. The quality is amazing. Colour is great too, especially from Adobe 1998 RGB files. The output closely matches my monitor using standard printing profiles.
The prints should last at least as long as those from a photographic lab and the quality far outshines anything I got back from my pro lab.
You can print borderless prints from 7"x5" up to A2, although I find it more economical to print smaller prints together on a single sheet of paper and then trim them later.
Ink cartridges are around £35 for 80ml of ink, this works out far cheaper than the cartridges for smaller Epson printers which often only contain about 8ml of ink. If you are doing a lot of printing the Epson pro 4800 might be a better choice with it's larger 240ml cartridges and the ability to use roll paper.
All in this is a great printer .

Advantages: printing up to A2 in a high quality. Disadvantages: very big and ink thursty
...printer, if you have an epson you will know what the quality of the prints are like. but over the past few weeks of owning one of these i have noticed that it does take up an awful lot of ink, so if you do get one, dont always use A2 paper, i worked that out the hard way...
the cartridges are about average price and also last a while when you print using standard A4 sheets.
i have also been able to print on A6 using photo paper, and it looked absolutley ... ...all with them.
with this epson i have also got a chip to make the cartridges refilable, hopefully this will save me some money. this is not hard to refil your cartridges with ink yourself.
but only buy one of these if you desperatley need to print A2 sheets for a living, otherwise it is just a complete waste of money. sorry this has been a short review but i just wanted people to know what my opinions are about this printer, if you have any queries ...
