They haven't spent a fortune designing a funky look to their printer as it sells itself by the technology it has and the quality of the prints. It is a printer than has been built and designed purely for business and proffesional useage.
They have made a decent looking printer which is silver and black in colour and will sit proudly in any office.
Electrical -------------

Ink -----
The printer applies six colours from four cartridges: black, yellow, cyan/light cyan and magenta/light magenta.
These are a rough price of ink cartridges for this printer
S020118 Stylus Pro 5000 Black Ink £38.76 S020147 Stylus Pro 5000 Cyan Ink £34.48 S020122 Stylus Pro 5000 Yellow Ink £38.76 S020143 Stylus Pro 5000 Magenta Ink £38.76
I was expecting this printer to have more expensive print cartridges than normal printers, but these are standard prices. You can recycle your old cartridges and have them filled up at specialist stores.
Speed --------- The Epson Stylus Pro 5000 produces excellent ink-jet output and has high-end features, but it’s not exactly a speed demon when it comes to time. But that isn't a negative point. I would rather this printer took it's time whilst printing than rushing it through and producing a lower quality picture.
For it to print a photo of best quality on A4 gloss photo paper it took approximately three minutes.
It produces stunning, near-photographic quality and looks especially good on glossy photo quality paper.
Quality ---------
It has a resolution of 1440dpi and six colour inks which gives excellent prints.
It produces stunning, near-photographic quality, especially on glossy paper.
This printer is specifically designed and targeted at the photography and graphic arts markets.
The printer is ideal for enlarging photograph's, posters, art work and can also be used to produce your very own publicity material without the cost of a printer company to do the work for you.
The new colour management system ensures accurate colour matching and exact photo copies.
EPSON Stylus Pro 5000's outstanding print quality down to EPSON's unique Perfect Picture Imaging system. It gives unrivalled resolution and perfect precision and unbeatable quality.
Ease of use ----------------
Very simple to use and set up. Comes with a comprehensive handbook that explains the whole set up process. Haven't had to call Customer Services as yet as have had no problems with this printer.
Durability and Reliability ---------------------------------
So far I have had no problems with this printer breaking down or malfunctioning. It even worked after I dropped it on the floor (ops!)
Value for money ----------------------
Excellent if you use this printer in a professional way.
Negatives ---------------
Before changing my media to the expensive paper we had brought, I tested first on plain A4 paper.
Even when I made the correct selection on the menu, it saturated the paper with too much ink, producing a soggy picture.
For high quality photographs, it is better to use a higher gsm media.
Overall I have been very happy with this printer. I would recommend this to business users who need high quality prints from thier printer for presentations and reports. It's far too expensive to be considered as a home printer.
Advantages: The only one of its kind that provides absolute black ink on transparencies.. Disadvantages: Loud, annoying, cranky, expensive, finicky, fragile, BEAST FROM HELL!
get your hands on a professional quality, absolute black ink transparency creation, with half-tones! printer.
Epson has created this EpsonStylus Color 3000, this one-off unique printer, which is the one, the only, STILL! Low cost high performance solution available today.
If you look at this Epson printer in scale with the other similar printers in the Epson line with the same capabilities this is the lowest level of the group that includes the EpsonStylusPro5000, the EpsonStylusPro 5500, EpsonStylusPro blah blah blah, etc ending in the amazing EpsonStylusPro 10000.
These printers will not fit in your house or your budget unless of course spending $3500.00 to $9500.00 is not a big deal to you and you have space in the garage.
