I got home and followed the on screen instructions for changing the cartridge. They were really straightforward, ... ...in offices.
Epson tell you that it is advisable to use only their own branded cartridges with their printers as you may compromise any warranties you got with your machine. However when purchasing this product I was offered 2 of the stores own brand black ink cartridges for the same price as the Epson one, which sounds like a good deal but I decided to play safe and stick with the trusted brand.

I got home and followed the on screen instructions for changing the cartridge. They were really straightforward, it tells you how & when to remove the old cartridge, when to remove the new one from it's protective plastic packaging (taking care not to touch the little electronic chip on the side), when to remove the yellow tab that is attached to the cartridge and how to insert it. Et voila job done in a jiffy!
The quality of the black ink once printed onto ordinary 80gsm printer paper is great. I have had no problems with smudging or of the ink looking a little grey. There's no need to shake the cartridges like you have to with the bigger machines you get in offices.

...ink catridge is for my epson c44 but it is also compatible for the c42 model.I think the results of the printouts from the use of this cartridge are outstanding.They are also readily available in most shops and online.typical costs start from around £8.99 but this of course depends on where you buy it from.Reliability is good too as it has never failed me!,it is also easy to install to.It just a matter of taking out the old one and popping the brand ...
