Why genuine media and consumables - should be a question answered by everyone who uses photo quality printer. I use one of Epson's best printers in its class, Epson Stylus Photo R800. Fantastic printer, it produces exceptional prints and reproduces vivid and crisp colours. I just love my printer. But why are the prints so good? Is it because of the quality of the paper? Yes, but not only! Good photo printer and very good photo paper wouldn't give exceptional results without suitable ink. But suitable isn't good enough. It must be best ink for the printer.
Epson have lunched the R800 and R18000 range of printer and of course cartridges for them with photo quality prints in mind. They successfully delivered excellent photo printers. But to achieve the best results from your excellent printer you need to use genuine media and consumables. Not only photo paper, but genuine Epson ink for your printer. Using Epson media for Epson printer will guarantee best possible prints.
T05 ranges of inks have been designed to deliver photo quality and long lasting prints (up to 90 years). The colours are vivid and crisp thank to UltraChrome Hi-Gloss ink pigment based UltraChrome technology, featuring new red and blue inks, and Gloss Optimiser. Full set (8) of genuine Epson cartridges would cost you around £90. It's not cheap. But it guaranties resolution of up to 5760 x 144 dpi (drops per inch) and excellent results every time you pres print button, no streaks, no splashes, and just perfect prints. Moreover, every single cartridge will inform you how much of the ink is left, thank to Epson maintenance technology.
Why genuine? Firstly because you get the quality you wanted when buying you excellent printer. Secondly and more importantly, because you printer is photo quality and any other, non genuine, cartridges will not give you the quality.
If until now I haven't convinced you to genuine products let me tell you about my and my friends experience with non genuine cartridges. With my old printer Epson Stylus 890 I tried to save some money and bought ones "compatible", cheap cartridges. The results were just horrifying, colours strangely different. Stains, marks, smears and smudges all over prints, and the ink ran out quicker than it supposed to. Another story, my friends have used non genuine cartridges for their Epson printer for a few weeks (to save many of course) and ended up buying new printer. Hope is enough.
I assume you are convinced now, then for your genuine Epson products, not only cartridges, you can visit Ciao or buy directly from Epson: buyepson.co.uk. Prices for any colour are: £11.90 and Glossy optimiser £6.36 (free delivery). But if you still want to save pennies and damage your fantastic printer, go to: incfactory.com; prices of compatible cartridges (by Jettee) are: £7.90 per cartridge of any colour (delivery free), or: cartridgemonky.com; prices of non Epson are: £4.95 per cartridge (by Photo Plus); free delivery.
In case you change your mind while buying non genuines on the web sites above, you can buy genuine Epson cartridges over there as well. Hope it helps.
