Advantages: Cheap, Sturdy, Reliable, Small, High RPM, Plug and Play Disadvantages: Lack of space
...I bought this drive to store all of my video and audio (I do a lot of Music Technology) on. It has a fantastic transfer speed and is structurally sound without any loose bits. The rubber around the bottom provides a very sturdy base and absorbs any mild shock that may occur to the device whilst it is in use. At times I actually find that it runs slightly faster and less jittery than my internal laptop harddrive during video playback. The only downside to this product is the size. It has only taken me around five months to occupy 60gigabytes but it is perfect for mild use. I recommend this product to anyone wanting a reliable harddrive that will last for years and never let you down....

Advantages: Small, Light, No external power required Disadvantages: None I can think of!
...Very slim device, with sleek black plastic case and rounded edges. Has rubber feet to prevent slipping when placed on desk.
Compatible with all Operating Systems (including Linux) due to FAT formatting. As with all drives, can be repartitioned or reformatted as preferred.
Has Windows XP software on board to simplify backups.
Very short USB cable (about 10cm), so an extension may be necessary. No power supply (gets power from USB port), so truly portable.
Fast USB2 connection.
Reliable WD HardDrive - I've had it for over a year with no problems.
This is now a low storage capacity HardDrive at 60GB, but I would thoroughly recommend it (or a larger capacity Passport) for anyone who needs genuine portability with their harddrive....

Advantages: Quiet and 7200rpm and ATA100 Disadvantages: A bit more expensive than the others
...As harddrives go this is great, it has a huge capacity of 40.9 GB, and at only £110, you can’t complain. This hard rive also has a seek time of 8.5ms which is very fast as well as a spin speed of 7200rpm and a transfer rate of ATA100, if your motherboard supports it. This is a very good value and fast harddrive, not to mention how quiet it is. So far it has been a breeze, as to the installation although a bit of tinkering with the jumpers to select whether it is a master or secondary drive, and the speed of the new drive compared to a 5400rpm and ATA66, which I used to have it has made quite a difference, you can really notice it....
