Advantages: Funny and an interesting continuation of the Rincewind story. Disadvantages: Not quite as good as the other Discworld books and a little short.

Unfortunately for Eric, Rincewind is hardly a wizard let alone a Demon. But under threat of being sent to back to some Dungeon Dimension Rincewind tries his best to grant his new "Master's" wishes... Recently I've become quite captivated by Terry Pratchett and his wondeful Discworld series, with this book being the last one I have finished reading.
It is almost a direct sequel to "Sourcery" although I don't think you need to have read it to enjoy this one. Again it stars the inept Wizard Rincewind and his trusty Luggage (a self aware box, carried by hundreds of feet). This time he is wrangled into another unwanted adventure by a teenage novice Demonologist named Eric.
Under the belief that Rincewind is a demon in disguise Eric commands him to grant him three wishes; to be ruler of the world, to meet the most beautiful woman in all of history and to be immortal. Like all Pratchett's Discworld books, Eric is funny. This particular book parodies the Faust story (even to the extent that the title of the book actually has the name Faust crossed out above the "new title" of Eric) but also parodies greek epics, mayan culture and even hell itself.
I enjoyed this book, although I don't think it is quite up to the standard of the other Discworld books I have read so far but it does provide an answer to what happened to Rincewind after the events of Sourcery. Even though its not as good as the other Discworld books I'd still recommend it to Pratchett fans as it does help to fill in more of the Rincewind story.
Advantages: Pratchett Discworld why say more? Disadvantages: Too short
...on the airborne luggage with Eric hanging on for dear life depicted on the cover. If however you find a hardcover graphic novel ISBN 0-575-04636-8 be prepared to take out a second mortgage.
Oh yeah, to confuse the issue, the picture accompanying this particular item is the paperback not the graphic novel so be careful and make sure you know exactly what you are bidding for.
Right, the book review itself.
Eric Thursley, 14 year old demonology hacker, ... ...Luggage not Rincewind). Despite this Eric does get his wishes granted, sort of. Much to Rincewind's surprise!! Can the Disc's most incompetent wizard actually be good for something at last? I doubt it, but read the Discworld version of the Faust story to uncover what is really happening. A veritable chucklefest in true Pratchettian style. ...

Advantages: A good read Disadvantages: Not long enough
...The story is about Eric an useless Demon Summoner and Rincewind an incompetent wizard who are brought together when Eric summons Rincewind to grant him three wishes, immortality, ruler of the world and to have a beautiful woman fall in love with him.
I love this book, although why it has been granted the titled of Big Book I do not know; but nevertheless the artwork on the front cover is superb as I could spend ages looking at it and found it to ... ...most Terry Pratchett books that just as you get into them, they end and you are left wanting more.
On the plus side; I found this book to be reasonably priced, well worth a read if you have a few hours spare and great for a good chuckle or two. ...

Advantages: fantastic story Disadvantages: i think its for kids
TP has been my most read autor ever since i got into reading (after i left school and it wasnt sad anymore!) and this book is one fantastic story in a long line of excellent books. here, the adenture makes you wish you were a wizzard - failed or otherwise, and the humor will make you laugh out loud (on the train - i went so red!).
however, it did occur to me the other day that TP writes kids novels - and is this book one of them? the fact is it ...
