We were sold a £1,000 engagment ring on the basis that if it did not fit it could be returned, but then on return told that it was damaged. We were then given the run-around and eventually gave up. The whole issue was detrimental to our health. I have since had the ring professionally polished for re-sale. The jeweller could find no damage to put right. In our experience once Ernest Jones have your money you do not qualify for fair treatment. Promises of independant assessment are bogus delaying tatics. Ernest Jones know that you have limited resources available to devote to a complaint and work on the principle that most complainers will give up if they can be delayed for long enough.
