Advantages Lovely taste, not too bad price, easy to drink

Disadvantages bit too redish taste, alcohol content too low!

I bought this wine from Tesco's although I have seen it available in many other shops. It was priced at £4.49 which is average for this bottle.

The wine is from the Sierra Valley region of California and bottle holds 75cl. There is a large range of Ernest & Julio Gallowines, white rose and red.

The bottle is corked with a synthetic cork, which is always easier to remove.

It is recommended that you drink it chilled (6°-8°C) and can drink it along with a variety of foods. It is always best to take chilled still wines from the fridge, de-cork and leave for 15mins (with the cork reintroduced to the bottle) before drinking to give a more refined taste

Colour & Clarity
---------------------
The wine is a quite a deep coloured red and is transparent. I was surprised how deep the rose is and is closer to a red than a white wine

Smell
--------

This rose has quite a powerful, fruity smell which although strong is not overpowering or alcohol. The greatest aroma is strawberries with a hint of raspberries - remember everyone's smell is different - my fiancée says she can smell grapes but I'm not so sure…. ;)

Taste
--------

The first sip should always be quick with a wine. This gives a brief taste without your nose spoiling it for you. The wine tasted more on the red side than white, as reflected by its colour.

The strawberries were a definite taste with a slightly subtle fruity taste which I couldn't place (I'm not overly into fruits! Ha!). The wine was soft and easy to drink, no kickback or grimace as with some. overall a very enjoyable taste.

The alcohol content is 9.5%, which isn't too high so that the flavours of the wine, rather than the alcohol, are receptive

Overall
----------

I would definitely recommend this to try, especially for people who haven't found a nice rose yet or haven't tried one.

Or if you prefer a whiter rose try Ernest & Julio's Grenache.

It's a pretty safe bet that it contains grapes! These low-alcohol rose wines are perfect for light summer drinking, now all we need is the summer.
