After a long and anxious search for the "right" coffee machine, we eventually opted for the Dualit. I have to say we were somewhat swayed by its looks, it is so shiny and solid, we just felt confident it would be reliable too. The crunch was, of course, using it. ...- well from our experiences anyway - and the coffee is delivered quickly and efficiently - and it tastes excellent. The milk frother is such a bonus too as it is up to heat within seconds - this is such an advantage. I think it is only fair to say that a friend of mine had one of these before me, and she was not happy with it, and felt the coffee came out too slowly, but this has been far from my experience - so perhaps she had a faulty machine?? ... ...these machines were marketed as Dualit they were actually made by Jura who also don’t have a comparative model. All of theirs are massive now and would be more at home in a café than my kitchen. I bought this machine on the strength of the many other excellent reviews from customers here on dooyoo who are clearly much more expert than me about coffee machines. I am adding this review to say that if you're like me (i.e. a complete idiot in the kitchen), but want superb coffee, instantly with no hassle or effort, this is the machine for you. ...well. It's not as ugly or space consuming as some of it's competitors. I have never been tempted to try any instant coffee machines and tend to rather spend a fortune on buying my cappuccinos in cafes everyday before going to work. I have been a Nespresso customer for years. I just wanted to let others know how I have found the customer service failing and lacking when your machine goes wrong. At this rate I may as well have bought a new machine and cut my losses. My machine is out of warranty and went wrong a few times on timer for coffee - seems a fault that I shouldn't have to pay for but there you go... Disadvantages: remember not to let the pot sit on the heat once the coffee is through.

Simply the best: so straight forward and idiot proof. I also have a collection sitting at the back of my cooker even when I go through periods of coffee abstinence. Yes you will need to replace the rubber rings and yes, every five years or so the filter cup starts to get holes in it especially if you are a slob and leave it sitting around with old damp grounds or coffee in it.
