A wide choice of materials is available for beginners learning French, but resources that help you attain fluency and teach the finer points of grammar are harder to find. The ten units contain dialogues with explanatory vocabulary lists and language activities based upon the dialogues. There are in addition two of Victor Hugo's poems, one or two passages about France's geography, economy and education system, a weather forecast and a President's New Year address. Business vocabulary is introduced as well as colloquial style. You can hear an official phone call and a more informal one, and learn how to compose a letter as well as fill in forms in French.

My five year old daughter is mad keen on all the Disney princesses so for her birthday recently we bought her the Disney Princess Memory Game as a little extra. Most people probably know the basis of memory games where you have a number of cards face down on a table and the challenge is to find matching pairs. It's the sort of game that can easily be played with an everyday deck of cards but with the Disney Princesses it was definitely that little more exciting for my daughter.
This game is made by Ravensburger and comes in a very colourful sturdy box. The game contains thirty two cards depicting sixteen different pictures featuring the six Disney princesses - Cinderella, Snow White, Jasmine, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty and Belle. The Spanish Language Builder is intended as a follow-on to Michel Thomas's initial eight-hour course as well as his advanced course in Spanish. It comprises two hour-long CDs and, unlike the beginners' course, this time there is a thirty-two page booklet, pages 9 to 28 of which actually list expressions in Spanish.
