The product is meant to help your skin to repair itself from UV and environmental damage and also protect against these strains too before they damage your skin.
I figured it must be doing something right since it has been winning awards. So far it has won the Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards 2007 for the Best Age-Defying Serum, The Red Magazine Beauty Awards 2007 for the Best Night Product and it also won Harper's Bazaar 50 Best Beauty Buys 2006 for Anti-Ageing Skin Saver.
I really like the design of the bottle. It is quite simplistic and minimalist which I really like. The serum comes in a brown glass bottle that is rectangular in shape. It has gold writing on it with the 'EL' symbol at the top with 'Estee Lauder' written just underneath it. It then has the name of the product 'Advanced Night Repair Protective Recovery Complex'.
The directions of use on the bottle are to 'apply AM and PM before your moisturiser'. I personally use this in the evenings before bed, since I am usually in such a hurry in the mornings I don't normally have time.
The serum itself is white in colour and quite runny. It is easily applied due to the 'dropper' you use to get the serum out of the bottle. This is also quite fun to do! You press the rubber button at the top of the bottle and it sucks the serum in to the dropper. You then use a few drops on your skin. As the liquid is quite runny you only need to use a tiny bit of this every time you apply it, which means it should last for quite a while. The dropper really helps you not use too much since it only comes out in a small quantity.
I found that once you apply the serum it takes a few minutes for it to absorb in to the skin and that it left the skin just a tiny bit oily. Since you apply your moisturiser after the serum I didn't find this to be much of a problem. It didn't irritate my skin in the slightest but was actually really gentle.
It has a good long shelf life of 24 months once opening, if you use this everyday there should be no problem using it up within this amount of time!
I'm not too keen on the smell of this. It is a really hard smell to try to describe it is quite strong like tea tree oil or another kind of medicinal smell. Not very pleasant, shall we say.
I really felt like this perked up my skin and made it glow and look healthier. It feels really nice using it and like you are really doing your skin some good. I feel good knowing that this repairs against uv and environmental damages and also protects my skin, I know I am still quite young but I want to really look after my skin and protect it against damage since I live in a big city.
This product is readily available from high street shops. I bought my one from boots for £47 for a 50ml jar but it also comes in a small size of 30ml for £34. I have also seen it in John Lewis and Debenhams. You can also easily get it online.
I would highly recommend this product. It is quite pricey but I think it is worth it. It smells a bit icky but after applying your daily moisturiser you won't even notice the smell.

Naturally Estee Lauder SA's are extremelly polite and well put together. They are always attentive and happy to show new products without seeming pushy at all. I have always received generous samples with my purchases as well as advice on how to apply the products I had adcquired. The stand is always clean and well illuminated. ...usually not a lover of Estee Lauder products, as I do have quite sensitive skin and I have got to be careful of what I use, particularly on my face, as if I use something that irritants the skin my face usually swells up like a balloon, so I was a little hesitant at first about looking into these products.
As I have quite a high face colour, my face sometimes looks like a 'glow worm' as I put it, I do have problems finding products that can actually ... ...three different products which are good for my skin type, but in particular she put great emphasis on this product.
When I got home I couldn't wait to try it, and even though it is called night repair, you can use it morning and night under your usual moisturiser.
The little dropper was great for getting the serum out, as sometimes the liquidy serums can be a little messy, but I squeezed the dropper and put some serum on my finger, and then applied ...

Now I have always had oily spot prone skin so rarely use the free moisturizers and serums I had accumulating in my Estee Lauder draw. However a few weeks ago I did a stupid thing of falling asleep in front of a log fire and woke up with very red dry skin, similar ... ...out my little bottles of Advanced Night Repair and applied it carefully each night, along with various other moisurizers during the day. Well it's like I have new skin! I was lucky not to have any wrinkles at all (thats oily skin for you, I'm 42 by the way), but I did have the odd stubborn blackhead, and a few blemishes. Applied with an eyedropper, Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair has some immediate results, but I'm not sure about overnight or long-term results. I think this product works best when applied to a clean face -I use it after evening showers or baths, before bedtime. The directions says to apply it AM and PM daily, so why is it only a "Night Repair" product, I wonder? Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair's liquid formulation may be applied in very small ... ...face. I'm not *too* worried about wrinkles at my age yet, but as a good measure, I apply it to smile lines and other areas around the mouth, the forehead, and the undereye / tops of cheeks. I really don't like how it feels as it is applied (too slimy wet), but I LOVE how it feels once it's dry. When it's dry, it feels very SMOOTH and SILKY to the touch!! The jar is 15ml and the main part of the jar is a square shape. It isn't that deep, and I can hold this jar easily in the palm of my hand.
