*ESTEE LAUDER ADVANCED NIGHT REPAIR PROTECTIVE RECOVERY COMPLEX*

*INTRODUCTION*
The first time I was introduced to the product was by my mother. She has been using the serum for a few years now, and still seems fascinated with the results. Having younger skin, I have found that I don’t need to use it continuously, which is a good thing as I alternate products a lot. My mum still swears by this ‘magic potion’ and thanks estee lauder for her wrinkle free face at the age of 40. Not having to worry about wrinkles at the moment, I don’t have this problem, however I do know that starting with a good skin regime from my teens, when I started to become more aware of blemishes, I am providing a good routine for my skin to settle into, which I am sure will be beneficial to my skin as I get older. Claiming to ‘dramatically enhances skin's natural ability to repair UV and environmental damage’, I decided to give this a go. Living in an urban area where there is a lot of fresh air, and hardly any fresh, open space, I am quite aware of the adverse effects it can have on my skin. This sounded like a safe bet, so I decided to give it a go.

*PACKAGING*
Another thing which attracted me to it was the bottle. Although it reminded me a little of the medicines I had to take when I was ill, I quite like the shape of it. The top of the bottle consists of a rubber dropper which easily squeezes the product in and out of the bottle, ready for quick application. The bottle itself is made of a hard brown glass which seems very strong (as I have found after dropping the bottle on several occasions. Oops!) There isn’t a great deal of information on the bottle, which fits in with the simplistic theme of the product.

*THE ACTUAL PRODUCT*
The serum itself is of a cloudy yellow colour, quite runny with a medicated smell. You wouldn’t want younger children to get hold of this product, so storage may be an issue for mums. It smells a lot like tea tree oil, personally, the smell doesn’t bother me as it tends to disappear after I use my moisturizer on top.

*USAGE*
Luckily for me, the product is very easy to use. I don’t have time for products which take too much hassle. This serum is used exactly like my moisturizer, but with a little less product. Moisturizer then goes on top, ensure you have clean skin to begin with. The instructions on the bottle are to ‘Apply AM and PM before your moisturizer.’ Simple as that! However any other queries about the product can be answered by the lady at the counter, who I found very helpful in my local Boots store. All that is required is to massage the solution into the skin, just like a primer, however at the same time trying not to tire the skin out, and giving the product a chance to sink in naturally.

*IS IT FOR YOU?*
Although it does say it reduces lines and wrinkles, as I have mentioned earlier this didn’t apply to me, however I was still interested in the product due to its many other benefits! I use it more like a detox for my skin, two weeks at a time. This short application does the job just fine, and my skin feels refreshed and happier than before.
For older customers, you may want to use it regularly, as my mum does, however those with younger skin will find that they just don’t need to. I am happy to say however that it is a product which does cater to all skin types and can be used for different things.

*OILY SKIN? NO PROBLEM!*
Having oily skin myself, I was a little worried at first about the excess oil the serum may cause my skin to produce. However it actually had the opposite effect. Using it under my moisturizer, I found that it was more like a medicated calming solution, with the added benefits of protecting my skin. The solution does seem a bit greasy, but this was fine for my oily skin. It may be a good idea to use the product only at night times to begin with to let the skin settle and get sued to the product at night, whilst you’re asleep, and this may help as you won’t have any make up on, and the effects can be seen by yourself without others noticing anything at first. Personally, I found no problems with it, and people did actually comment on how much clearer my skin looked! Great!

*IS IT WORTH THE MONEY*
Being a bit on the expensive side, I was aware that I would have wasted a lot of money on something that I wasn’t sure about. However after using my mums treatment I was left with no choice but to buy it myself. It really has done my teenage skin a world of good, and I would definitely recommend it to any potential buyers! (Gosh, I do sound like I’m selling the product don’t I?!)
As well as the beneficial effects, it does actually last ages, using only 2-3 drops at a time. Although it does state that you should use 4 drops, I found that too much for my oily skin, great, that just means it will last even longer! However this factor may depend on what type of skin you have, as those with dry skin may find that the product sinks in more, so more is needed.

*VERDICT*
Here’s the low down:

• Great for all skin types
• Eases tired skin that needs more life
• A pleasure to use, at any age
• Lasts a long time
• A range of sizes, small size being great for travel
• Easy application
• No mess
• Quick to use
• Fast results

That’s the whole product wrapped up in a few bullet point, and I will definitely buy it again.
