I am sure if you have read any of my previous reviews then you will know that I am a big fan of the make-up and have all manner of different things in my collection. I have recently had a few new items and so have been having a little sort out and came across my Estee Lauder automatic pencil for eyes. I brought this item, not so much because I needed it but because if I brought 2 Estee Lauder items, then I would get the free gift! Easy target me or what! I did buy it though as I thought at some point I would give it ago and after digging it out of my back I have given it a go once again and here are my thoughts.
The Estee Lauder products are not the cheapest and this eye brow pencil will cost you £16.50. I have had a similar product from Avon in the past and this has cost me a fraction of the £16.50 price tag. I have had many Estee products in the past before though and for me the quality of them has always shone through. The Estee brand is available online from their own website, www.estelauder.com or it can be purchased from many stores, Debenhams, House of Fraser and John Lewis to name a few.
The pencil came in a cardboard blue and gold box, trademark design from the Estee brand. There was a lot of detail on the box but I soon opened it and saw that there was also a leaflet with product information on it as well; this included a breakdown of the ingredients that had been used in the product and directions for use. The pencil was also blue in colour; I had the brown shade as this is the most natural for eyes. There is a small plastic cap that needs to be removed before use and then you are good to go.
The eye brow pencil is really easy to use. I must point out that when using this, I did have eye brows1 I had not gone mad and plucked them all out, and the pencil is designed to make your brows look fuller but not draw a new set onto your skin! I regularly have my eye brows waxed and so they are normally quite tidy, I just need this to fill in little gaps.
The pencil is a mixture of a powdery look to an almost wax like feel. It goes on really smoothly and rather than drawing on, I use small strokes as this tends to look more natural, well that’s just my opinion! The best thing that I have found about the eye brow pencil is that it will stay put, I have used cheaper products and the markings have faded so it looks really quite patchy.
As you are only using small at a time with this pencil, it really will last ages, however when you do run out there are refills available.
In summary, whilst I like this eye brow pencil I think it is expensive. That said, the quality really does come through with it and you can see that it when applying the eye brow pencil and that it is long lasting.
4 out of 5 from me on this one
