Eternal Darkness is by far one of my favorite games of all time, the game is actually insane. However the game concept is simple you play as a girl investigating the death of her grandfather... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages The Graphics Are Dismal In Some Parts

With Resident Evil on the shelves, who needs any more Horror games? As soon as it was released, it was deemed the scariest GameCube title and it looked as though it was going to stay there for quite some time. Who needed anything more? Well, me for one. After playing Resident Evil to death and getting bored of it, I wanted something new. Luckily, Eternal Darkness was released. How could I resist? A competitor for Resident Evil's title, that some said was even better than RE. Not surprisingly, I picked it up quickly. One thing you'll notice as soon as you turn this game on is how incredible the ... more

Advantages Advantages Superb story | Nice locations | Magik system

Disadvantages Disadvantages Combat | Requires a lot of time

This game has been a long time coming. Originally it was set to appear on the N64 but because of the console nearing the end of its lifespan Silicon Knights moved their project over to the GameCube to allow more time working on the game. It is easy to liken this game to Capcom’s Resident Evil and, while it does have its similarities, Eternal Darkness is an altogether different game. There is less schlock horror with the zombies and weird monsters and more of an underlying tone of evil, which becomes apparent due to the heavy narrative story that you will witness during the game. The story ... more

Advantages Advantages Great story, very scary gameplay

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Sometimes awkward controls

Never a particularly bad console, but never one of the 'big players' on the scene, the Nintendo Gamecube was one of those consoles that attracted a fanbase almost solely through the quality of its exclusive games. It lacked the graphical punch of the X-Box, the world of variety of the PlayStation 2, and, heck, it didn't even play CDs or DVDs. It was a Nintendo games console for people who wanted from Nintendo only what they did best - high quality, quirky, unique games. They wanted the guaranteed killer apps that franchises like Mario and Zelda would bring to the table, along with the out-of ... more

Conspiracy theory No.1: Aliens have indeed arrived on earth and have lived among us for centuries, government agents are researching into advanced technologies but are keeping the landings top secret due to fear of public anarchy. Conspiracy theory No.2: Des Lynams moustache is indeed fake, an experiment for a modern day Charlie Chaplin comedian failed as Des sported a moustache too bushy for TV. Des also gets a milk-tash every time he takes a sip of the white stuff. Conspiracy theory No.3: Demons and unholy creatures live, there existence has been covered for millions of years, underneath our ... more

Advantages Advantages psychological Thriller,Brilliant Storyline, First console game that makes you doubt your own sanity!

Disadvantages Disadvantages not many... No multiplayer.

Not many games nowadays, can truly be classed as 'orignal' in concept. Be it a 'mario clone' or 'just another shooter', game ideas are running dry. Eternal Darkness:Sanity's requiem is most definetely one of the most original games I have ever played. Previously developed for the N64, The game was delayed, and redeveloped for the gamecube. This allowed the developers silicon knights to extend and enlarge the game into what they had envisaged; a TRUE Psychological thriller. Silicon Knights worked on the project for an additional two years more, enhancing it considerably, By adding new elements ... more
