EVA CASSIDY - a tribute to her life.

Advantages: An angel that died.
Disadvantages: died too young.

This is the month when we have been asked to write musical reviews. I wrote a review on Songbird, a record by Eva Cassidy, though feel it is not enough to write about her record. Her life mattered to a lot of us, and without her songs, my life would not be as it is today. This is my tribute to a short life that left its mark on me. Eva Cassidy was born on the 2nd February 1963 and died on the 2nd November 1996. Eva Cassidy live at blues alley

Advantages: a beautiful relaxing outstanding album
Disadvantages: sadly departed a damn shame

An outstanding album from an amazing sounding lady, as live albums go this is one of my top choices, the songs are beautiful ,full of passion and soul, you cannot listen to this album without being touched by Eva's sublime voice. As female artists go Eva is my favorite, there is not one song on this album that i think "i'll fast forward this one". Her band do her a lot of justce as everything just fits together nicely. For me the stand out tracks are "Stormy Monday" , "Tall Trees of Georgia", and " Oh Had I a Golden Thread" , I like to listen to this with all the lights off and just sitting on the settee and just soak up the atmosphere. The only annoying thing on the album is the person who insists on tapping there glass whilst Eva sings tall trees in georgia,it must have been picked up by an atmos mic, i could slap whoever it was ...

Review of Live At Blues Alley - Eva Cassidy

The view of a newcomer to Eva Cassidy's work

Advantages: some wonderful tracks
Disadvantages: a couple of jazzy songs

, perfectly. A nice familiar song which most people ascociate with Eva Cassidy. "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" will leave the listener feeling really mellow. In conclusion this album is great! If you don't want to buy the full collection of Eva Cassidy's work then just buy this album, it has some of her best stuff on it. ...
