Advantages Advantages As an employer, any application with 'Evans Halshaw' on their CV can be safely binned

Disadvantages Disadvantages Liars. Keep you waiting. No customer service. They hate you. Won't write cheques...Shall I go on?

I can't even be bothered to write a full review on Evans Halshaw - they are such a shambles. Here is my story, cut short: A) I had a Mercedes and needed to downsize. B) Because my car would be worth more that the car I would be buying, I needed someone I could trust to pay me the difference. Cue Evans Halshaw: 1) I phoned them (from AutoTrader) and got put through to a salesman 2) Told I didn't need to book an appointment to test drive the car, I turned up on the afternoon 3) When I turned up to the garage, no one would help me because the salesman I spoke to was with some one else 4) I waited ... more

Evans Halshaw does Highway robbery still exist Far from being one to whinge………. Does highway robbery still exist? I will explain then allow you to make your own minds up. A little background I purchased a Peugeot 406 executive 2.2 HDI (diesel) recently and discovered a fault that I was not aware of when it was bought, the so called FAP filter. Now this to anybody not in the picture sounds simple and cheap right? How wrong can you be? After doing research on the internet for quiet some time I discovered that is not at all simple or cheap. This is how it works on the Peugeot diesel HDI (common ... more

Evan Halshaw Vauxhall, 2 Cultins Road, Edinburgh: Not also steelers but a bunch of cowboys calling themselves professional car mechanics. Well I'll explain my history and also I want to express my total sympathy with emilne82. I bought a Vauxhall corsa from an Evan Halshaw dealer at the end of January 2008. Truth is to say that the selling process was pretty much smooth; I did not have any hidden costs and they did explain clearly the extra costs/products they were trying to sell me. The problems started afterwards. To start with, the car was advertised with the full manufacturing service ... more

Just before I started work with this organisation, I read some reviews, but thought that every company has customers who aren't happy and the people seem okay. Oh how wrong can a person be. Evans Halshaw is owned by a plc called Pendragon. Last year they were in serious doodoo with their share price and everything the company does is to do with cash flow. To minimse costs, sales staff receive no product training and no systems training. Everything is trial and error. While the cars genuinely are low priced, the cars are simply an opportunity to sell GAP insurance, Pureguard, Tyre Insurance and ... more

Evans Halshaw Renault Aberdeen - More of a Steeler than a deeler You know the story, you spend ages looking through the endless lines of cars in all the local garages, you see the car you like, its even in a nice color and the price is right, so you go for it. That's what we did, only to find out that Evans Halshaws are more of a steeler than a dealer! Previously we owned a Renault Meagne, it was a good car but a bit on the small side, especially with our second kiddie on its way. Having sold the Megane it was time to buy a new car. We eventually agreed on a Vauxhall Vectra that was for sale ... more
