Advantages: Several good shows; The Evening Concert; Classical music!!! Disadvantages: A flood of adverts; Simon Bates
...to listen to if you want to unwind after a hard day at work. There is a bigger range of music played here than on the two o’clock program, which is good. John Brunning also redeems himself by offering intelligent comment on the music he’s playing, and creating an all-round sense of tranquillity. Definitely one of the better offerings from the station.
>> THE EVENINGCONCERT <<
This is by far and away the best show of the lot. Nick comes back into ‘ClassicFM Towers’ every night at nine, and shares with the listener a massive variety of whole classical music works.
I hope those words don’t put you off – it’s not all just immensely long symphonies – there are some fantastic pieces of music played here and they are all introduced by the excellent Nick Bailey. He really has a passion for the music he’s playing, and this comes across in his...

Advantages: Excellent, varied classical music, great shows, many good presenters Disadvantages: Repetitive and irritating adverts, Simon Bates, Natalie Wheen
...by classical music purists of dumbing down the music, for example by playing only one movement of longer works (except during the eveningconcert), but if you’re looking for whole works all day, you need look no further than Radio 3! ClassicFM’s aim is not to satisfy the purist market, but to broaden the appeal and popularity of classical music: something that it achieves very well, with ever increasing audience figures (well over 6 million each week, and thus many times Radio 3’s audience!), and a significant proportion of young listeners, including hundreds of thousands of listeners under 16.
ClassicFM’s website is excellent for finding out about the shows, presenters, entering competitions, reading about special offers, classical music events, classical music news, and is highly interactive for sending requests, voting for the ‘Most Wanted...

Advantages: Free tickets and interesting website Disadvantages: None
...If you enjoy going to the cinema or to music concerts (not pop music) then the classicFM website is a place should you visit on a regular basis. Especially if you like going for free!
This website has a particular section where tickets are given away for many events all over the country. Obviously the number of tickets varies for different events from a couple of tickets to hundreds of tickets. There are often special previews of films where the whole cinema is taken over by ClassicFM and all the tickets are free. There is normally a choice of about half a dozen cinemas around the country with the showings either mid-week or a Saturday or Sunday morning. To apply it is just a case of completing an on-line form, but you do have to confirm that you are able to attend and hopefully people who do not use their tickets will be barred from...

The one thing that stands out above the rest of the Doors' cd's is that this is the one you must have in your collection. From the moment the first track starts it feels like you actually could be in the concert, In my opinion there is nothing better... more
