Double glazing - everyone has a cringe worthy story! This seems to be the worst regulated industry in an absolute horrendous collection of poor services country wide.
After a previous property, where we were first time buyers and cash constrained. We decided to opt for a local discount glazier. The products arrived and were stored in our lounge for weeks. The fitters were absolute cowboys. The locks failed in every door fitted twice/each. Enough said
This time we elected for Everest. The sales patter is not the basic we are better than so and so!! But still it is horrendous and very tedious. 3 Hours to quote is pushing the boundarys of insanity.
The product review is tediously informative. I feel that a long sales tactic seems to wear you down and obviously works very well for the sales team. Three hours of product hype and all resolve to live has now passed. Buy or Die from incessant waffle.
As a young couple who thought they were "street smart" we signed on the quote that night. 7pm to 10pm all rational thought has now departed.
In the morning. Sales hangover has now struck. With cold sweats and pounding head I rush to find the obligatory purchase agreement. £2 721.00 pounds for two windows. This is after the sales gimmicks.
Up to 40% off (please note fellow reader UP TO) obligatory finance agreement that we can pull out of at completion of work!!! Finance agreement that is only at 1.5 % with a cash back that if you repay in month seven reduces the interest to 0.8% See it was going in somewhere! 10 % discount 10% immediate sale discount
Now work it out £2721.00 + 10% + 10% = OH MY GOD! for two windows.
I am phoning to cancel my order this morning! And 8-9 weeks delivery time
Everest you have taken the moutain!

Good review, and a good job there is now a "withdrawl clause". I have mine done by a "plastic joiner", a real tradesman.

Great review and very informative. I have heard a lot of bad reviews from this service so your review has kind of cemented my opinions. Thanks

I have to say I am very blunt now with these sales men I tell them when they come to just measure up and give me a price...no waffle if they can't do that then don't come....lol, that sounds soooo harsh! Good review xxxx
Advantages: A reasonable copy of the traditional timber sliding sash. Disadvantages: very poor energy rating, and has significant variations from the traditional design
