This is something I overheard the other day and just had to tell somebody about it!
You may find this dull and unintersting, but I found it quite amusing!A couple of days ago I was browsing through the book section in a local charity shop (this is where I buy the majority of my books, but that is beside the point!)
While looking I overheard somebody talking to the cashier -Customer - I bought this shirt yesterday and although it says large it is clearly only a medium.
Cashier - Erm okay.Customer - I have tried it on and it doesn't fit
Cashier - Yes!Customer - I would like a refund.
*This is the point where I was in complete shock. Somebody had bought a second hand shirt from a CHARITY shop and was now asking for a refund!!! Astounding!Cashier - Errrr
*Not too sure what was said at this point. There was some conferring with one of the other cashiers. With the lack of conversation, I had to pull myself away from looking at the books (well, I had already looked through them all and at this point was merely pretending to browse while listening to the conversation)It was at this point that I saw 2 ladies, one of them being given a £2 coin. Upon receipt of this they both left. The face of the cashier was completely dumbstruck and she wasn't quite able to understand what had happened.
Yet I bore witness and I believe that this is one of those rare occurances that may never happen again.I still can't believe that somebody could be so miserly as to ask for a refund from a Charity shop. It isn't as though the shirt was brand new and had cost them £12+ It was an old second hand shirt for two meagre quid!!!!

There are some real tightwads out there.

Great story - I'm somewhere in between Sandra R and Trampus on this one: it's a bit cheeky but perhaps they were desperate. Oh, I'll just get off the fence shall I? That is bloody ridiculous actually. Two quid! Were you tempted to give her the £2 yourself?

I understand how you're shocked but to some people two quid is a lot of money, charity shop or not.
