I have already written a "review" of my dad ( a while ago now though) so its about time I publish my "review" of my mam. Please read my dad's story too :)
This Christmas I spent all of my time at my Mam's (that's Yorkshire for mothers LOL), and I often visit at weekends.
I often visit my mam; I live about one hour away, and spend quite a few weekends up at hers - especially during the rugby league season.
We both support the same Rugby League team - read my op on Wakefield Trinity - and I take her to all the home games.
I've got a lot closer to my mam over the years, especially since my dad died. I have 2 sisters who live closer to my mam that I do, but I do enjoy going and visiting the aged one when I can.
Obviously we don't always see eye to eye - we sometimes disagree, but often don't, and can easily laugh with each other until we cry, over the simplest things.
I'm 37 and single, and my mam still treats me as her little baby. Of course, I let her :) I'm no mug. Whatever happens in my life there is one thing that I can be sure of - and that's her love for me.
Her cooking is always out of this world too - although, now at last she's letting me do some cooking for her. It's only taken 37 years, the last 19 of which I've not lived at home. But there's no beating my Mam's cooking. It's great - warming, satisfying, and she can make good Yorkshire puddings. I cheat - and buy the shops own frozen ones (but don't tell her LOL).
When I go and visit her, I always end up doing some odd job or other. I am her gardener, her electrician, and at the moment, her decorator. I hate doing this work in my house, but I am in my element when I do this stuff for her.
My mam is easy going, easy to get on with, and just accepts anything that life throws at her. She has lost 2 husbands now, and that has bound to have had a massive affect on her and shaped her into the woman she is. I can talk to her, and tell her anything, she is rarely surprised - well, she is, but never shows it - and I know she will never ever judge me.
She loves me, and is proud of me and my achievements. My mam is my biggest fan, and sometimes its nice to chat with her when I need an ego boost.
I love my mam, and just thought that I'd share this with you.
Joan, you are the best.
Thank you for reading this :)
And a few weeks ago my best friend died :(:( - edit 28/12/10
gave me a wall-hanging for Christmas entitled "My Mum" (they didn't have "My Mom") and it really blessed me, too ~ my "baby" is nearly 23 so he'll pass me soon (23-yet-again forever according to his brother) ! ♥♥ ! ~ ........................................................... ~ jes ~ ! ♥♥ !

Isn't it wonderful to have some-one to love as much as you love your Mum. Not everyone has the oportunity. To recognise the Love she has for you is a gift.
