Well this is from x-helix-x 's challenge, which has also been taken up by Bollinger28, Edgelwonk and Kelr101 amongst others. So for what it's worth, here is my go.

1. What's your favourite style of music?

Easy - hard rock and HM, especially the stuff made from 1968-1974, when bands really thought about what they were doing, and it really was all new. Coming a very close second will be the West Coast acid sound of 1966-67 from The Doors, Iron Butterfly, Quicksilver Messenger Service and 13th Floor Elevators amongst others. Bringing up the rear will be all the music Elvis Presley made, except for his film soundtracks.
However!!! I also have a bit of a soft spot for the old crooners, Bobby Darin, Al Martino, Jack Jones, Dean Martin and such. We live next door to a very old lady who's wonderful, and we have an understanding that when I play my heavy stuff, I must also play some of the easy listening too (she likes it as well). Live and let live, and all that!

2. What was the first record/tape/CD you ever bought?

Hahahahahaha, it was The Equals Greatest Hits, remember them?(Baby Come Back, Blue Eyed Brown Skinned Boys) in about 1973, I was six years old. They had Eddie (I Don't Wanna Dance) Grant in their line up too. God knows what happened to that LP.

3. Who is your favourite singer of all time?

For all ages, Elvis. In rock music, Paul Rogers (Free, Bad Company) and Chris Cornell for the modern era. There are just so many good ones about. Favourite female singer would be Carly Simon.

4. Who are your favourite band of all time?

Led Zeppelin. They wrote the book on how to perform rock music and stretch the boundaries.

5. What is your favourite album?

The Southern Harmony & Musical Companion by The Black Crowes. A great band making music that will stand the test of time.

6. When you were younger which musician/bands did you have as posters on your wall?

Didn't have posters as such, the hip thing to do for us as teenagers was put your LP sleeves on the wall instead. Without the LP inside, I must add. Though I did also have a nice big gruesome Alice Cooper one up for a long time, I remember.

7. At the moment what is your favourite music to listen to?

American rock music between 1971-1975. The old joke goes that Homer Simpson said 1974 was the year rock music attained perfection. I'd go along with that.

8. What was the last CD you bought?

Blue Oyster Cult's 1974 "Secret Treaties" album, from Amazon, brought on impulse to cheer myself up after we got spanked 4-2 by Man Utd the other day. Bloody great it is too. More fun than watching the Gunners at the moment LOL.

9. What song was or will be the first played at the reception when you get married?

We were married in 1998, and it was Tracey Chapmans "Baby Can I Hold You Tonight", later mutilated by Westlife. Or was it Boyzone. A nice song.

10. What song do you want played at your funeral?

Don't really want to think about this one, sorry!!!!

11. What singer/band do you really really want to see in concert?

I would have loved to have seen the late great Frank Sinatra in Las Vegas. Maybe in another life I will. I keep promising the missus we will see Duran Duran one day too - not quite my kind of thing but hey, give and take!!!!

12. What was the best concert/gig/festival you have ever been to?

The Sunday of 1987's Reading Festival.....headlined by Alice Cooper when he was making his comeback. Also on the bill were The Stranglers and Zodiac Mindwarp. David Bowie at Milton Keynes Bowl in 1990 was great too.

Well there we are. Thanks again to x helix x and thanks to you for reading. Now where did I put that Al Martino CD........(and please ignore the ratings below, no need for them here surely)
