Advantages: Lightweight, sturdy electricity not needed...the list goes on. Disadvantages: Hard to get into corners and tight spaces with it.
I live in a small house and have two young children, my baby boy is just 22 months old and my daughter is 13 years old. My house gets quite messy especially during the winter months when we spend more time at home.
.
I have a long lounge with a beige carpet which is not very practical when you have children as you can see the mess very easily. I am a very clean and tidy person and hate to be surrounded in mess.
.
After giving away my vacuum cleaner when I moved house, I decided to get a handheld vacuum as I thought this would be better for me as we are tight on space. My daughter helps with the cleaning so I thought this would be easier for us to use and wouldn't take up much space, after a few months of using my handheld vacuum, I found it wasn't very good. Advantages: None Disadvantages: A dancing dustpan which empties itself on your carpet, not robust and poor customer service
February 2008 I purchased a Ewbank 940 Power sweeper. Immediately on unpacking I saw there was no manual. I sent an e mail to Ewbank and they responded with an attached Adobe File. Down the cleaning aisle there was a selection of products that were for removing carpet stains but some were a bit pricey costing over a fiver which is more than I intended to pay. I then came across the 1001 Mousse which was reasonably priced and which was to attack wet spills and stains. I quickly bought this then rushed home to see how I would target this stain and hoped for some success.
