...I used to have this drive and back then when i was trying to build a low entry computer, and because i was on a tight budget so I brought this cheap Excelstor Jupiter J240 40GB.
At first I was really impress with it because this hard drive was quick (running at 7200rpm) - it uses an ATA100 interface and it was quiet. But after using it for a couple of months the hard drive starting to make some funny noises, like a jittering sound inside the hard disk, at first I thought maybe the hard drive was overheating so I brought a hard drive cooler but the problem was still there (*made me waste £20 for a hard drive cooler for nothing*) - So I decided to sell it to a computer shop and man I didn't even get much of it, the guy working there said that this hard drive is rubbish, that it doesn't even last long.

Advantages: cheap, 3yr warranty, reliable so far Disadvantages: none yet
...Not a lot you can say about hard drives really. All you want is for it to sit there store your data and perform well enough
The Excelstor although not as well known as some manufacturers goes for a bargain price. Along with this you get a 3 year warranty which is great for a hard drive.
Easy to install. Picked up by Win XP straight away and worked with no problems at all.
Seems to work very well indeed. No disk problems so far and performance so far has been very good.
I've put this disk in a number of systems and have found no problems yet. Of course, with a 3 year warranty you can be fairly confident in the reliability of this hard disk....

Advantages: Cheap Price - 3 Year Warranty Disadvantages: None so far
...This is a good cheap hard drive. Excelstor isn't the most well heard of make in hard drives. Not like Maxtor, Seagate ect but yet for value for money it definetly ranks up there with them. Most of these hard drives come with a three year manufactures warranty so if anything does go wrong just send it back. And as technology goes in three years you will be ready for a bigger hard drive anyway!
7200rpm is fast, compare this to 5400rpm on other hard drives.
The connection is 100 as opposed to 133 on other hard drives but I shouldn't let this overly put you off. The price for this hard drive and the warranty sell this product for me hands down.
It is quick to install. Just plug in the hard drive cable(IDE), the power cable. Switch your computer on and you should be away to go. If not go into your bios by hitting F2 or whatever other key...
