This is a good cheap hard drive. Excelstor isn't the most well heard of make in hard drives. Not like Maxtor, Seagate ect but yet for value for money it definetly ranks up there with them. Most of these hard drives come with a three year manufactures warranty so if anything does go wrong just send it back. And as technology goes in three years you will be ready for a bigger hard drive anyway!
7200rpm is fast, compare this to 5400rpm on other hard drives. The connection is 100 as opposed to 133 on other hard drives but I shouldn't let this overly put you off. The price for this hard drive and the warranty sell this product for me hands down.
It is quick to install. Just plug in the hard drive cable(IDE), the power cable. Switch your computer on and you should be away to go. If not go into your bios by hitting F2 or whatever other key is required to enter these settings on your computer. Find the auto detect hard drive option. Save and exit and you should be good to go.Recommend!

You need to explain what RPM means and below what ATA are and how are they better than IDE

again, I know enough about HD to understand what ATA 100 and 133 are, but most people don't, you might regard it as basic and general, it isn't, you need to include a bit more detail in your descriptions of things that nobody else knows about.

Hi - sorry about the rating but you've not given enough information. I don't know how much this hard drive costs or how big it is. Also, you don't explain what you mean by connection (you talk about 100 compared to 133) - What does this mean ? You also did'nt tell us whether the hard drive has self-parking heads or how does it stand up against shock. You have the basis of a good review, but you can make it so much better. When you update this, please let me know and I will happily re-rate it for you.
