Eye of judgment is one of the more interesting titles to date on the PS3.
Using the PLAYSTATION(R)Eye, the player controls the game by placing cards in-front of the lens.
The game then translates the card into an onscreen presence to battle another player.
Shades of the chess game in star wars ring a bell, but its a brilliant new IP that could go far.
By capitalising on the popularity of card collecting with the functionality of the EyeToy Sony are onto a winner.
The title will ship with a base pack of around 50 cards. As with all card games these are weak and are used to ease you onto the game.
Other more powerful cards will be made available through instore packs or special events.

To stop anykind of cheating, the game uses a register system.
You scan your card into a deck and then when in game, the computer randomly selects your cards at random.
This means that someone who has the most powerful cards in the game, may end up only being able to use weak base cards.
Its a system that seems to work.

The game in general is very good, but single player mode is lacking.
Single player is best thought of as a sort of training mission for the main event, which in this case is online mode.

Playing the game against people from all over the world is a real pleasure and perhaps the strongest reason to date for getting your PS3 online.

In the end your enjoyment of the game will steam from your familiarity of card games.
If you like them then this is essential.
If not then its well worth a go anyway, you never know you may like it.
