I naturally have very short, stubby lashes and wanted to try something a bit more permanent than mascara to enhance them, so i purchased these Eyelure Individual Lashes from Superdrug, as they claim to last up to 3 to 4 weeks. The box they are packaged in has a clear plastic window so you can see the actual lashes. There are 3 rows - short lashes, medium and long, so you can vary lengths as you go along the lash line. The lashes come with instructions and small bottle of adhesive.
When i went to apply the lashes, the instructions stated that a small amount of adhesive should be placed on a bit of foil and the lashes dipped in before application. Even this was a bit inconvenient, as i didn't have much foil to hand. The whole process was just fiddly. As I went to apply a lash, i would press down in an attempt to fix the adhesive. Almost as soon as i looked up again or tried to blink, however, the lash would flutter off, obviously not having fixed properly. This happened repeatedly. Even once I'd managed to get one lash attached, I knew it would be a complete mission for the next. And that was only the first eye.
After I'd applied a second lash, the first one would spontaneously flutter away to the ground. Eventually, I had applied a sufficient amount to both eyes - my lashes did look longer and fuller and the effect was nice and natural. I even left the house with them on, although I did feel a bit precarious as it felt as if they could fall off unexpectedly at any point - there's no way I could have worn them for 3 to 4 weeks, as suggested on the packaging, especially with factors like sleep movements and really windy days taken into consideration.
Perhaps it was my application technique, but I found that the glue ran out really quickly, and I wasted lash after lash as they fluttered to the ground and I lost them. Even when found, they were unusable again as they were so thick with dried adhesive - the stuff dries really quickly!
The lashes did look natural and nice once on, so if you're better at application than me and have thicker lashes so they stay put, they'd probably be an decent purchase. If you do have thicker lashes, I'm assuming you wouldn't feel the need to buy these anyway, though. For someone with thin, short lashes like mine, I'd recommend the strip lashes for easier application.
