Prix. Not only is it one of the most beautiful games of its kind, with lavishly modelled cars and tracks, but it's one of the deepest ones as well.Almost every aspect of F1's cars can be customiSed, including gear ratio, suspension, brake sensitivity, front and rear wings, as well as tyres and the amount of fuel racers choose to carry. Pit stops let players refuel and repair damage--which cars take realistically--and an announcer identifies racers' ranking, position gains and losses, and specific car damage. There are 16 races in championship mode, each with weather conditions based on conditions found in the real event. A match-race mode lets two friends compete, which is ideal when you want to go head-to-head against a mate. The only real drawback to this game is that it lacks the speed of an arcade-style racer, but this fact alone may be enough to scare away non-racing fans. --Robb GuidoPros:real F1 racers and their carsbeautifully modelled tracks and nice weather effectsan in-depth car-set-up screenCons:races are slower than they could bethe controls are a bit difficult to master

Introduction ************* I first played the original of this game in 1999, this was my first serious racing game on the nintendo64, and I found this game and had fantastic graphics, the game play was very realistic and the sound was good and the handling was excellent. In 2001 I traded the original for the sequel I was hoping for an improvement on the original game.
The drivers and teams *************************
The game has the 22 license drivers and teams for this game including coultard, Schumacher, And Frentzen, teams such as Ferrari and Mercedes. You can also set your car up, before you start a race you can put as fuel in as you want and change the wings to make the car faster or more maneuverable depending on the tracks.
Game modes *************** Within the one player game mode you compete to become the world grand prix champion, you can either do full races or just part of the race, e.g. 4laps 8 laps 16laps or a half the race. Within the two player mode you choose you can play any of the tracks against a friend. The game also offers trial this is where you race to beat you best time.
The Tracks ************ The game features all the real tracks that are seen in a grand prix season such as Silver Stone and Monza. These tracks are almost identical to the real tracks even the pit lanes are in the same place.
The Graphics *************** The cars look almost identical to the real counterparts; you can even see the sponsors on the cars, which look good when you watch the replay mode this is when you really get to see how good the graphics are. The tracks are neat and tidy and the courses look good. The game even has weather changes and when the rain hits the floor this looks very realistic. When you crash watch it on the reply, crashes look really awesome.
The Sound ************ You can hear a change in the engine as you go up gears also when you skid you can here the screech marks. When you crash, it sounds like someone hitting a load of drums, which is not that good to be honest.
Playability ************ I found the movement of the cars hard to steer when going towards a corner and braking it seemed to be too sensitive and the car goes all over the place. The speed makes the car handling feel really good until it comes to the braking, This makes the game really frustrating and annoying I stopped playing after a few hours.
Comparison to the Original game ************************************* This game is graphically better then the original game and the sound is smoother and doesn’t give you a headache, and has updated drivers and course stats as well as the new car sponsors. But on the other hand the handling has gone down hill because in the original game the handling was smoother and the cars were easier to control.
Likes ****** Graphics and licensed drivers and teams.
Dislikes ********* Handling can take a while to get use to.
Overall ******** This game is a good solid game, has good graphics the cars look great, and the sound is also very realistic, even though the handling isn’t the greatest this game is still worth having so I would recommend this. But if you have the original game I would recommend keeping it and not bother getting the sequel because the improvement on graphics and sound does not justify the extra expense. You can probably get second hand from about £5-£10s
Advantages: Realistic sim, nice touches Disadvantages: can grow tedious after a while
This game emulates the 1997 World Grand Prix, and you'd believe it were real if it weren't for the lack of g's and wind rushing past.
All the tracks from the 1997 Grand Prix are present, and are accurately simulated. You can even set up the weather to reflect the conditions from 1997, which is a nice touch.
The game has the usual Practice, Time Trial etc modes, but I went straight to the Championship or Grand Prix mode. Here you are given a number ... ...achieve a reasonable time, you are allowed onto the race itself. You can set whether you want to race the full 50 or so laps - depending on the track - or a cut down version of the race. The full race, which can involve 70 laps on some courses can get tedious, so I would recommend not going for this option unless you are a real Grand Prix addict.
There are three levels of difficulty. I managed to complete the Grand Prix in the first two attaining ...

Advantages: Detailed graphics, and realistic controls Disadvantages: Out of date after a year
With the excellent F1 97 on the Playstation, Paradigm had a huge task to
produce a game of the same or better standard. The job was made
considerably easier by the fact that Paradigm had the F1A licence and so
could use the real driver names, teams, sponsors and track design. With the
tat F1 pole position, the task of producing the best F1 game on the N64 was
not terribly difficult.
When you switch the machine on you get a wonderful circling ... ...As it’s name suggests F1 World Grand Prix is a Formula 1 game, but it is the first top
class F1 game on the N64 and will be extremely hard to improve upon.
F1 World Grand prix plays surprisingly well, you can change the cars setup to increase
speed or improve steering, you have complete control how your car is setup. The
Controls are easy to learn on beginner where you only need steering and accelerate but
if you change the difficulty it becomes ...

...However, i got home with F1 WGP and played constantly for 18 hours, getting used to the handling, which is amazing.
I then woke up the next morning and began a season, which is very in depth. i decided to be patriotic so i chose Johnny Herbert. I started in easy mode cos although id had a lot of practice, i wasnt THAT confident in my ability. after half the season (id played 100% ditances and the full qualifying etc) which had taken me around 3 ... ...pole and the race in all the races. So, i started a new season in the harder difficulty and enjoyed it MUCH better. it was a very closely fort season which i ended winning by just two points to Schumacher - being a British driver made it all that more satisfying.
all this had taken me a couple of weeks with the fun never wearing off. i was always looking to shave a couple of seconds off my time and get the best lines around corners.
after 6 weeks ...

Advantages: There are lots of play modes to choose from (such as two player games, scenarios etc) Disadvantages: It is quite difficult to get the steering sensitivity right if you use a steering wheel
This game simulates the 1997 season. My first impression of it was that the graphics are really good and quite realistic - I've found this with quite a few N64 games. This is a very enjoyable game, although at first I found it quite difficult to control the cars. This was especially the case when I used the steering wheel, until I got the sensitivity setting correct. I like the fact that you can have two player games, it means that you can practice ... ...racing against someone else that the computer!!!!)
One thing that I noticed about the game was the ommission of Villeneuve (maybe he's shy!!!!) But this doesn't bother me because you can change the names of the drivers, and I'm not a huge Villeneuve fan anyway.
I reckon that this a good racing game, and reasonably realistic. It compares well with other Formula 1 games. You can race on all the circuits (apart from the most recent that's been introduced ...

After a racing game for your Nintendo 64 but unsure where to go? Look no further, ‘cause F1WorldGrandPrix II is here.
I’m a fan of Formula 1 but believe it or not, this was only my second F1 game (the first being WorldGrandPrix on the Sega Master System II). I saw it advertised for £10 in Electronic Boutique and I figured I’d give it a shot, if I didn’t like it I could always take it back.
Well, here we are months after purchase and I’ve still got it since it is good – very good in fact. This game is amazing. It looks pretty good for a N64 game, with no polygon popups and actually is realistic. The action replay at the end of the race looks pretty good, and there are half a dozen camera angles. Unfortunately the sound is terrible, in mono with a few engine grunts. You get your team ...
F1worldgrandprix 2 for the nintendo 64 is, as the name suggests, a racing game based on the f1 teams and racers of the 1999 season. The controls, as in every f1 game, are a pain to control because you have to break about 200 yards before each corner. Compered to all of the other f1 games out there, F1worldgrandprix 2 for the nintendo 64 is a very well made and good game. It is not perfect, (It is a bit slow and a bit hard at first), but it is a very good game. Well worth buying. ...
