real professional soccer player in FIFA 08.Step into the boots of a professional player through a new mode called Be A Pro: Co-op Season that challenges you to master the same disciplines as a real professional soccer player--from positioning and tackling to reading the field and passing. Never before have you been able to approach the game this way, improving your abilities one skill at a time just as if you were a pro. between the virtual giants of FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer. Konamis game has always been the favourite but last year FIFA closed the gap to such a degree that the title race has never been closer. This years FIFA uses a completely new game engine, for the first time built specifically for the next gen consoles. But improved graphics and animation are only the half of it, with just as much focus going on the artificial intelligence thanks to the new "35 point decision engine". What this basically means is that every player on the pitch is fully aware of those around him and constantly thinking about tactics and position when not under your control.Other changes include better modelled physics for taking a shot on goal, which take into account everything from air pressure to the angle of your foot. Youre also able to create your own special moves to replicate every possible trick from real life. There are also new game modes including Be A Pro which challenges you to play the role of a single player through a whole season or career. On top of this there are revamped online leagues to play a virtual season in the Premier League, Bundesliga, French League or Mexican 1st Division against real opponents. With 620 licensed teams, 30 offline leagues and 15,000 players as well FIFA might just have made enough new signings this year to put it over the top.Harrison Dent

As you'd expect from a FIFA title, most of the details are great- the soundtrack, the available clubs, kits, likenesses are all there. Right down to the way that Wayne Rooney runs on the ball. There are some new, fancy features as well that immediately appeal- there's a 'family' control mode, which makes it easier for casual players (yes, like your Dad) to pick up and play a multiplayer game with you. There's the challenge mode, featuring real-life scenarios for you to play out.
But most strikingly, there are three mini-games. The first is 'Juggle'- you assist your Mii is a game of keepy-uppy, by following on-screen instructions at the right moment, dance-mat style. There's 'Boot-It', a sort of penalty-shootout with power ups. I can't get excited about either of those, to be honest. What really steals the show, however, is the table-football game. This is something that you really can play with your Dad, or indeed your girlfriend. You control the players by rotating the controllers as if you were holding the rods on a real fussball table, and it works a treat.
Sadly, beyond the mini-games are some real problems. The gameplay is OK, but only OK. I haven't been able to get the passing system working for me as well as I'd like, and the special moves are amusing, but seem ineffective. Free-kicks, crossing and long-range passing are all disproportionately difficult.
Worst of all, there is no career or manager mode. OK, it's possible to compete in virtually any tournament in the world, but there's no possibility of improving and advancing your team using winnings etc. This has real implications for the longevity of the game.
Finally, the online mode. It's possible to play against other Wii-owners via your wireless internet connection, which is a great feature. Or at least, it would be if it were more reliable. I manage to complete only around 50% of online games, which puts a real damper on the experience. There is an interactive league feature, too, and although I haven't managed to get it working, it sounds like fun.
Overall, I'd give this 3.5 stars, if I could. It's not a bad game, but I'm not sure that it will keep me entertained until PES 7 comes out!
Advantages: Another great game in the Fifa francise. Disadvantages: No career mode :(
...Sports produces a hit with Fifa and makes the end of each year anticipated for the release of the newest addition of Fifa and this year its on the Wii! The first screen menu you will see has all the usual like Play Now and Tournament and My Fifa however the one that stands out the most is Footi Party in multicolored lettering. This consists of 3 brand new exclusive football party games to the Wii. Your guide for the new games is a Mii version of ... ...game, as on all the Fifa genre games the first button you come across on the menu is Play now this is just the same as all the previous Fifas so there's nothing to discuss there. However many fans would be disappointed to know that there is no career mode in the first Fifa Wii. The career mode gave the player the fun and excitement of managing a football club though every season however this has been scraped. Although many new features have been ...

Advantages: Addictive Gameplay Disadvantages: Controls are hard to memorize
This is a game that has many different modes. There is a mode called Footie Party that is new to the game this year, there is the Table Football which uses the wii remote as the handle. There is also Keepie Uppies, this evolves flicking the remote in the intended direction. and then shoot! where you flick the remote where you wish tot kick the ball as you save the balls or try to score against footballing legend Ronaldinho. But the casual gameplay ... ...moves your player around and you just pass and shoot. But the real thrill of the gameplay is when you use the nunchuck as well. The ability to tricks such as 360's and others adds more fun, by swinging the nunchuck down this allow you to slide tackle the player of shoot. With the ability to choose easily on which type of shot that is wished to do. Game modes involve the online mode which allows you to try and build your ranking by playing as any ...

Fifa 08 is best football game out on wii. You can play online and against other players, which can be anywhere in the world. Also it tells you how many games you have won and lost online furthermore it gives you rank . It ranks you out of everybody and gives you your number. Also another area on Fifa 08 is footii party which you can play table football, boot it and juggling. Juggling is just keeping the ball in the air. Boot it is where you aim for ...

Advantages: enjoy using your wrist, everyone can enjoy it Disadvantages: Bad graphics
The Fifa 08 on the wii is basically playing football on the playstaition; but you don't have to bother with the remote; you can do it all with a flick of the wrist. As it has been said many times it plays like the whole family can enjoy playing it. It is much better than on the playstation; because you do it with the flick of the wrist and you feel alot more involved in the game than u do pressing buttons. The bad points are; not as good graphics ...

games, but there is a variety of genres including: Super Mario Galaxy and Zelda: Twilight Princess(platform games), Resident Evil 4 and Red Steel(shooters), FIFA08(soccer) and Wii Play and Wii Sports which basically introduce you into how the controllers work.
Design 9/10
The Wii is the smallest of the three main Consoles now, and has a glossy white finish, it comes with a grey stand, and the Disk Drive has blue neon lights, it's a nice looking, small, console.
Value 10/10
At just £180 you can't go wrong for a Wii, despite it lacking a DVD player and huge power, it is the most innovative and original console to date and nearly half the price of the PS3. The Wii is a steal.
Extra Features 7.5/10
The Wii is able to connect to the Internet through its built-in 802.11b/g Wi-Fi or through a USB-to-Ethernet adapter, where ...

Advantages: Huge fun, cheap, interactive and easy Disadvantages: Graphics not up to ps3 or 360
I have to admit, I thought this machine would be a gimmick. A fun one, but a gimmick none-the-less. Then our shop got a demo unit. One try and you're hooked.
The concept is incredibly simple; use the remote to simulate 'real' actions. And this works very well, lending itself to incredibly intuitive and engaging games. Have a go with Wii Sports, the game that comes with the console. Most people I know who have bought the Wii insist this is still their favourite game, and it certainly is mine. Though 8 hours straight of tennis will leave your arm aching for a few days, and there is little as exhausting as playing the boxing on there!
There aren't only gimmicky games like this on the Wii though; you have first person shooters, sports games (including Fifa08 at the end of September), racers, disney games, film games, puzzle games ...

Well I bought this for Computer Exchange Gaming for just under £19 second-hand, and even though I'm not entirely into football this just struck a cord with me when I was first playing it. The motions you using the wii remote such as swinging to slide tackle, they are realistic, and the players, stadiums, kits all look real. and the graphics aren't that bad compared to fifa08 on the wii which I had reviewed as slightly grainy at times. This is a good advance forward for the fifa series, then we get to the controls. Now I would seriosuly getting a Official nintendo wii controller for this as certain things cannot be done without it. With the wii remote you can use two different options, firstly you can choose all play mode. Now this Wii remote mode will help you pick out passes to people and help you actually play the game. Aswell as that ...

FIFA 08 on the Wii makes it easy for the whole family to play and enjoy with a flick of the wrist. Featuring superstar Ronaldinho as the first player created as a unique and playable mini character, you\'ll experience like you never have before.
There are two ways to play. In the main game, FIFA 08 on the Wii is a truly authentic experience with more control than ever before. Now you pass, shoot, and perform trick moves all with a flick of the wrist. The all-new unique Footii Party with Ronaldinho mode introduces three party games featuring Ronaldinho as his own unique avatar. Play Juggling, Table and Boot It with your self-created Mii character to unlock Ronaldinho and take on the champ. Have fun and watch the meter count your calories burned.
