I eagerly awaited the arrival of FIFA 2009 having ordered it online from Tesco. I normally view new games with rather rose-tinted spectacles and a distorting degree of excitement however even I felt slightly disappointed with the new game. The question when purchasing a game which is released annually like FIFA has to be "Is there a big enough difference from last year's edition to justify the cost?" I am thoroughly enjoying playing the new game and particularly like the new collision system though my ability to begin playing it on "World Class" difficulty level indicates that my excitement is likely to quickly wane over the next few weeks. As I only own a PS2 I was aware there would not be the usual graphics improvement but I was disappointed by how some shots (pre-match, crowd, subsititutions) had just been lifted from last year's edition. I would recommend purchasing this game but only if you do not own FIFA 2008.
