football franchise from EA SPORTS is surpassed with FIFA 10. Responding to consumer feedback from more than 275 million online games played, FIFA 10 refines an already potent game engine, focusing on what matter most to fans.On the pitch, critical gameplay fundamentals have been enhanced to ensure that FIFA 10 mirrors real-world football, providing more sophisticated ball control, and physical interaction. On attack, players now analyze space more effectively, curve their runs in an attempt to stay onside, create passing lanes naturally, and drive for more variety in attacking options. On defense, new concepts like position priority enable defenders to multitask so dangerous spaces left open by teammates out of position are covered. Plus, slide tackle targeting, press marking, and better urgency clearance logic provide new options that make defending a tactical skill in FIFA 10.Three new innovations change the player control experience in FIFA 10 (2010). The first-ever true 360 dribbling system gives players finer control of the ball, enabling them to find spaces between defenders that previously were not possible. Using an all-new animation technology, skilled dribblers now have the ability to face the defender and use highly responsive lateral dribbling to skip past him. An innovative concept called Freedom in Physical Play enables players to perform wider dribble touches and new collision sharing creates a varied, less predictable, and extended fight for possession between the dribbler and a defender.A deeper iteration of the ever-popular Manager Mode features more than 50 major improvements, including new match realism, ultra-realistic player transfers based on multiple decision points, and true-to-life player growth curves.New game modes in this 2010 soccer video game, and innovations to popular features like Be A Pro, will be revealed in the upcoming months.
Advantages: It has alot of teams to choose from Disadvantages: Poor graphics, game play and controls

Fifa 2010 for the Nintendo DS console is an improvement over the past couple of years but there is plenty more needed to make this game worthwhile purchasing. You begin the game and are ... ...well laid out. You have five options which you can choose from and from these options they give you the various types of features the game has to offer.
Kick Off ----------- This feature on the main menu is pretty basic and you get to choose whether to play the game as a professional or play a classic game. I always choose classic because you are not sure what the game has to offer until you get acquainted to the game first. more

Fifa 2010 for the Nintendo DS console is an improvement over the past couple of years but there is plenty more needed to make this game worthwhile purchasing. You begin the game and are given some options on a main menu screen which is well laid out.
You choose classic for example and then you are brought to a screen full of football teams from various countries. You can change the team you are and the opponents you want to face. You get to choose from a various amount of leagues, such as England, Germany, Italy, Brazil and many more. You get to choose the kits you have and even the stadium as well. When this has all been set up you are ready to begin your journey in the game.
Game Modes ------------------- This is the second feature in the game and offers the biggest area of interest for myself. You have four additional options inside this feature and one of those is tournament mode.
Now the tournament mode is pretty basic you can choose a league from the various countries you have available to you to select or even a cup tournament and you pick a team you wish to become and aim to win that trophy. Pretty basic and very similar to the kick off feature above, only you are playing for a trophy in this feature. The second mode to play in is the penalty shootout, this enables you to practice taking penalties which could prove to be vital when the game is on a penalty shootout and you have to win in this manner to win a trophy. This part of the game is very boring, as it is very easy to score.
The biggest two modes are the Manager Mode and Be a Pro. Now the be a pro mode is you selecting a specific player and you become that player and no one else. Each match day you are given the role of this player you have chosen and you make him run round the pitch, shout for the ball, shoot and many more features. This is a good idea because it lets you train with an individual rather than an entire team. This mode is very common for people to use to gain some experience, and it is easy to understand as well.
The last mode is the manager mode. This is the area I play on a lot and you basically become the manager of any football side you wish. You get to buy and sell players and you get to talk to other people and watch other games. You can choose to play the match yourself or let the computer predict a possible outcome for you. Either way this is the biggest challenge on the game, as you have to meet three set targets each season and failure to do so results in your termination of employment with that team.
Training ------------ This is a great feature to have and you get to play on an empty pitch with your entire squad and experiment different styles of passing, shooting and overall tactics you might want to add to your own game. This features lets you choose the type of training you wish to take part in as well. You might be struggling with free kicks on the game and want to practice those, or even taking corner kicks and working out how to get the ball to your own team mate. This is a very valuable feature to have in the game and well worth exploring.
My Fifa --------- This feature lets you create your own players. It might seem like cheating and in a way it is but it gets you wanting to play the game more and when you create your own player it gives you more confidence in the game itself.
Graphics --------------- The graphics for this game on the main menu are very good and yet on the game itself are beyond poor. The game lacks any depth and it appears to be the sort of game you might expect to be playing on a console much older than the Nintendo Ds console. The graphics of the players when you have a close up occasionally sort of have an appearance to them but they all look very familiar. I would say the graphics let this game down quite a bit.
Game Play --------------- The game play is not too bad but there are some issues. When you are making a substitute during a game it can take forever to take place and that is frustrating for the person playing the game. You also have another issue which is when the game is pausing for a free kick or a corner it tends to lock up and you need to restart the entire console again.
This does happen frequently and I find that if you’re playing two top sides such as Manchester United and Chelsea you might notice how the game tends to be very slow yet you have very quick players on bother sides. The game play for me is better than it has been over the previous years but it does need some serious adjustments to improve itself further.
Controls ------------ I find the controls are the same every year but yet again there is another problem for the controls. The game lets you pass and shot and obviously everything else as well, if you click on the shoot button with a talented player you tend to notice if you have your finger on the button for about a second the ball rockets out of control and wide of the goal. You also notice if you press the ‘pass’ button it sometimes shots and if you click on the ‘through ball’ it decides to volley the ball to another player, so the controls are not always the best and it can be a problem during a game.
Final Thoughts ---------------------- I think the game is getting better because this year there is no problem with the overall style of the game. It does have poor graphics and game play which is a problem and the controls are not always going to be producing the correct outcome in a game but the game still sells on the name alone. I think personally anyone at any age can play this game, but I would imagine children would find it easier to play then perhaps a grown up would. I got this game for rental which is a fantastic achievement on my part, but the average price is around £17.99 which I would claim is extremely high.
