If you didn't get one of these with your Canon, and are serious about photography then it really is a must have.
The good thing about this remote is it's dual function, not only will it allow you to perform a shutter release but it will also allow you to take advantage of a 2 second timer function; without having to return to the camera.
Canon have also made the RC5 remote, which, whilst it is slightly bigger and a little more comfortable to use, doesn't give you the option to pick between timer delay, and simple shutter release.
This remote will easily give you a good 5M range, although I tend to use mine standing next to the camera when it's mounted on a tripod, simply to remove as much camera shake as I can. Obviously the windy weather can also contribute to camera shake, but I dont think they have invented a remote ...
Advantages: Innovation, Responsiveness Disadvantages: Price, Ease Of Use
I purchased the Nintendo Wii after weeks of searching the internet for a shop that hadnt sold out and once i found one available i bought it immediately. The package came with Wii sports and a remotecontroller and i have to say that i was quite impressed. The controllers work well with the console and in particular with wii sports. The biggest issue that i have with the remote is the battery issue. Whilst the batteries do last a long time when installed, to keep replacing them costs a fortune. I also have had this problem with my xbox 360 wireless controllers and would recommend anybody who was buying the controllers to also consider a quick charge kit to accompany it.
The unit is very responsive and works very well, this depends on where you put the sensor that is supplied with the wii so make sure that you read the manual carefully ...

Enter the world of remotecontrolcarracing with electric and nitrocars of 1/10th scale reaching speeds of up to 90 mph for a nitro and 60mph for an electric. These things cost a bit of money but are certainly worth it with many racing clubs around the country this is a very fast growing sport with new people starting every year. At races the competition is always good but the fun is just absolutely amazing.
These thing go incredibly fast on a 7.2v battery and a motor that fits in your hand. They also have great looks with car shells which you paint how you want. You must start the sport now. ...
