Fuji FinePix S1500. Descendant of the S1000fd

Advantages: Huge zoom, Focus Tracking, Easy to use
Disadvantages: Bulky, A little slow, AA batteries are a bit inconvenient

The Fuji FinePix S1500 is the latest incarnation of the very successful FinePix S1000fd. It is very SLR-like in appearance and the added bulk of the battery-holder/grip does give it an assured feeling in your hands. Of course, this can be a disadvantage, and if you want a camera that you can just slip in-and-out of your pocket, then maybe a slimmer compact should be considered. The 12x optical zoom is excellent and it equates to 33-396mm in 35mm terms - and if this isn't enough, there is a 5.7x digital zoom feature too. The menus are friendly and easy to navigate, and there are helpful explanatory prompts that appear on thew LCD screen when the mode-dial setting is changed. There are 14 preset scenes to choose from, each setting the camera to its optimum settings for the given scenario, but on top of this, the camera can be used ...

Fuji FinePix F70EXR - slimline super-zoom

Advantages: Features, Low-light capability
Disadvantages: A little confusing to master and a little too expensive

The Fuji FinePix F70EXR is billed by the manufacturer as the slimmest 10x zoom camera on the market and, at less than 23mm in depth, it is certainly very easy and convenient to carry around. The zoom is great for magnification, being the equivalent of 27-270mm in 35mm terms, but I found it to be a little fuzzy at the long end. There is also a 4x digital zoom for anyone who wants it. The FinePix F-series cameras are renowned for their low-light (high ISO) capabilities and the F70EXR should be no exception, sharing as it does the 1/2 inch sensor of the F200EXR but with 2 million fewer pixels crammed onto it. Also the EXR technology is great for combating noise on higher ISO shots. Obviously the F70EXR is small, compact and lightweight and, in general, feels great to hold, with all the controls being conveniently placed ? apart from ...

Fujifilm Strike Again

Advantages: The camera is brilliant, everything I wanted and didn't get with my vivitar camera
Disadvantages: I wanted a red one :D That's it really. A few problems with the scene modes but nothing too bad

Batteries FinePix Software Users Guide Hand Strap USB Cable Owner?s Manual Weight and Size I wanted a small camera which would fit into my little clutch bag and this camera fits perfectly, I have no idea what the weight of the camera is when it has batteries in it, however without it is 120g which isn?t much at all. It isn?t too heavy at all, and you could keep it in your pocket whilst walking around and then just whip is out very easily and take the picture you want to take. The camera is very easy to carry around and you should have no problems carrying it around in a small bag, or even in your pocket. If any of you have a small compact camera, then you should be able to imagine the weight of this camera. Style If the camera was in a different colour, then I would have jumped at one of those instead of this, I?m not ...
