Advantages: Good lighthearted horror a must for those who enjoy being scared
Disadvantages: Not for the squemish or faint of heart very explicit and graphic detail

...If you are already familiar with Richard Layman there’s no need to tell you that his work is brimming with blood,gore and graphically violent sexual themes and One Rainy Night is no exception. A huge fan of Laymon novels I personally own over 30 titles and this is defiantly one of my favourites,in fact I've read my copy so many times the pages are starting to fall out. From chapter one you are drawn into a story about a peculiar black rain that turns all who are coated in it into bloodlust filled crazies. Because of the large character base of the book it is slightly lacking in the depth of character you come to expect from Laymon but you still feel involved enough to root for the good guys. On the whole though a good read and one of the few Laymons where by the end you actually understand what happened instead of a collection... Read review

Advantages: Fast Paced, Gripping Political Intrigue
Disadvantages: A new Crew To Meet

...Islamic League in Partnership with Libya, Somalia and possibly Syria, Iraq, Yemen & Egypt. Combined together these Countries form a very powerful Oil Financed League. With Mjr Mack Smith a Former Dreamland Test Pilot now flying F-16 Fighting Falcons for the I.S.A. (Intelligence Support Agency) he knows he made a good choice leaving Dreamland and getting back into the "Hot Seat" of Combat. Unfortunatly for him, the Seat gets too hot and a Shoulder-Lauched Surface-to-Air Missile hits his aircraft forcing him to Eject and risk becoming an "Example" of how the G.I.L. deals with Hostile Aircrew. Mack is stuck in transport with a Fellow Pilot,Howard was flying an F-117a Stealth Fighter when he was shot down on a similar mission and 2 Marines who came to find Mack after he gave the covering fire and got captured for their troubles.
