When I moved in within my boyfriend I had never had a dishwasher and was suddenly thrown into the scary world of shopping for dishwasher products. Initially I bought whatever was on special offer which for a little while was Finish 3 or 4 in 1, but after our trip to Norfolk we came back to find no dishwasher tablets at all. I work very close to a Sainsburys store, so in my lunch break one day I went to investigate and search for some dishwasher tablets on special offer.

The other selling points of the Active Bursts are - No unwrapping - No fuss - No mess The unique thing about Active Bursts is that there is no wrapper, unlike other dishwasher tablets the gel-like coating of this tablet is completely soluble so the tablets appear to be loss in the bag. They comprise of a large salt half and the other half is filled with yellow Fairy, as these are lemon. So, as you can imagine these look pretty weird.
There are illustrated directions on the back of the bag 1. Place a pouch into the dispenser drawer and close 2. Reseal the bag after each use 3. Do not unwrap or puncture the pouch 4. Close dispenser immediately after dosing 5. One concentrated pouch = one load
Fairy Active Bursts Tips “For best results use the dispenser drawer. If the pouch will not fit in the drawer place on top of the cutlery basket and select a washing program with no pre-wash. Fairy Active Bursts salt action is effective in soft, medium or hard water up to 26°e (³95% of households). Your dispenser should work effectively even if the rinse aid or salt warning light comes on. For extremely hard water above 26°e (³5% of households) please use salt.”
There are a number of warnings on the back of the bag. - Handle with dry hands only. Do not let silver touch stainless steel. Do not machine wash antique/hand printed china or fine lead crystal. - Keep out of reach of children - Irritating to eyes, Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention - If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label - If ingested, drink water and DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING
Ingredients www.info-pg.com > 30% phosphates, 5 - 15% oxygen-based bleaching agents, <5% non-ionic surfactants, polycarboxylates, enzymes, perfume, citral, limonene, linalool I hope that that means something to someone as to me it looks like a load of double Dutch.
So, onto the important things. Smell - The smell of the lemon Active Bursts is rather strong, you can smell them when they are in the bag and when the bag is opened the smell is quite overpowering, this is why they suggest you reseal the bag after each use. The nice thing is though when the dishes come out of the dishwasher they smell fresh but not lemony. Cleaning power - As I said earlier until recently I was using Finish dishwasher tablets, the cleaning power with Finish was good but I sometimes found I had to wash things more than once. As I work all day if the dirt isn’t removed in the first wash there is plenty of time for it to become rock solid again before I have a chance to rewash it. Since using Fairy Active Bursts I have not had to rewash anything. I often make things like lasagnes and pasta bakes which stick to the dishes they are cooked in but Fairy gets through the dirt and grime. Now I have these, I don’t worry at all, I just stick the dishwasher on before I go to work and know everything will be sparkling when I get home.
Fairy Active Bursts are currently available in original and lemon, I’m sure more will become available though
Advantages - Looks cool - It’s fun to play with the air bubble in the liquid section - Cleans brilliantly
Disadvantages - Size - Shape - PRICE
In conclusion, if you spot these on special offer give them a go and you won’t be disappointed. Having bought these though I’m not hooked, so the special offers didn’t work that well. I certainly wouldn’t buy these at full price again but I would buy them at a cheaper price or a BOGOF (buy one get one free) offer. Hopefully these will become cheaper and then I would probably buy them. The shape and size of these pouches is not ideal, as I have quite a small dishwasher they do not fit into the dispenser. But the cleaning of pouch is brilliant.

...on a dishwasher detergent!
Fairy active bursts are a new product from those people at Procter and Gamble, now normally I wouldn't get excited enough about any form of cleaning product to be inspired to tell you about it but this one is different - it actually works.
I first came across these as part of one of the rare surveys I actually qualified for and I was sent 3 of these little capsules to try in my dishwasher. I am a born cynic, and will ... ...***What are they***
Fairy Active Bursts are small dishwasher pouches which Fairy call pods; each pod is sealed in a plastic wrapper and contains a measured amount of dishwasher powder, a small amount of scented rinse aid and salt. As well as glass protection and metal shine.
This is great for me because my dishwasher is constantly crying out for salt and rinse aid, however often I fill it up it never seems to last very long. With this product you ...

...buy and would only buy Fairy Washing Up Liquid so I was very pleased when I happened upon Fairy Active Bursts Lemon on offer in my local supermarket. The Fairy Active Bursts come in a plastic pouch type bag; the packet is the same green colour that I would associate with Fairy Washing Up Liquid. The bumph on the front of the pouch claims that this product is “all in one” and provides: • Fairy cleaning • Rinse aid action • Salt action ...

Advantages: Dishwasher detergent in a disolvable pouch Disadvantages: Need a dishwasher!
My Mum used Fairy washing up liquid and I still have a bottle for those odds and ends that need washing by hand, so Fairy is a name I trust. When I saw a new product on the shelves at half price for an introductory offer I bought it! I didn't need it as I had boxes of dishwasher tablets in the cupboard but I can't resist a bargain! Every time I opened the cupboard under the sink I saw the Fairy baby on the front of the re-sealable packet and decided ... ...green as you expect with Fairy Liquid, my bag has a bright red stripe with ½ price written on it, and the centre has a Fairy bubble with the name FAIRY active bursts for dishwashers. There is a picture of the little pouch and the Fairy baby is squirting the sparkling stars from a bottle of Fairy into the pouch! Just like a touch of ...

Advantages: Sprakly Clean Disadvantages: A Little Expensive
My little luxury is my dishwasher, and have had one now for 5 years and would not be without it.
I've been using the solid powder tablets ever since I've had it but recently spotted the new active bursts pouches. These are relatively new and I thought I'd give them a try.
I purchased mine in Sainsbury's this week on offer at £3.39, for this you get 30 pouches, one for each wash.
Packaging

The aroma of these ones is lemon, and shows a yellow pouch on the front.
The usual instructions are on the front, the amount which is 30, and these are handy as they are a all in one which includes glass protection and metal shine.
On the back of the packet you even get step by step in colour of how to insert them into your dishwasher !
You are advised to pop one into your dispenser drawer, failing that pop one into the cutlery ...

Advantages: No unwrapping, Cool looking tablets Disadvantages: Price, Don't clean very well
I have just finished a pack of these new Finish Quantum Powerball Tablets (gosh what a mouthful!), I had to get these as my normal FairyActiveBursts were out of stock on a recent trip to Asda.
THE HYPE:
Heavily advertised on TV presently, these tablets claim to be Finish's best ever dishwasher detergent, with a emphasis on shifting tough coffee and tea stains but not much else, so does this mean that it doesn't clean anything else?hmmmm I had to find out but only because there was no Fairy!
THE PACKAGING:
I bought a box of 12 tablets. The box is dark blue predominantly with 'QUANTUM' written in blue lettering on the background of the pack, there is a see through window in the top left hand corner, where you there is enough see through packaging to be able to see one 'Quantum'. You have lower down a wine glass gleaming ...
