I decided to use Fairy Non-Bio Liquid, as it is suitable for sensitive skins. Fairy Non-Bio costs around £4.29 for a 740ml bottle, which is more expensive than other detergents. When I was pregnant, I received a sample of Fairy Non-Bio washing powder tablets in a pregnancy pack. I used them to wash the Moses basket bedding only because they were free and went back to my usual detergent, Bold, as I preferred the smell and softness of my clothes. I had always told myself that I wouldn't use Fairy as I felt that it was a gimmick aimed at parents to buy their detergent. That was until my Son developed Atopic Eczema and had to start using it, however I am not impressed with Fairy's cleaning abilities.
At 2 months old, my Son started to get inflamed patches of eczema on his back, chest and head. After using numerous steroid creams from the GP, he was referred to a Dermatologist because his eczema was weeping and irritating him. The Dermatologist appointment took 3 months to come through, so in the meantime, in my plight to try and improve his skin the first thing I did was change my washing powder to Fairy Non-Bio Concentrated Liquid.
I decided to use Fairy Non-Bio Liquid, as it is suitable for sensitive skins. Fairy Non-Bio costs around £4.29 for a 740ml bottle, which is more expensive than other detergents. In a 740ml bottle you will get 20 washes if you use the recommended dose of 37ml per wash. There is a clear plastic measuring cap with the bottle to make sure that you use the correct amount of detergent depending on the softness of your water. For heavily soiled clothes it is recommended that you use 55ml of liquid.
Since using Fairy Non-Bio my Son's skin has improved and not become inflamed, as it is gentle on sensitive skins. It has a pleasant smell which isn't overpowering, however once your clothes have dried, it doesn't take long for the smell of the detergent to disappear. I like my clothes to smell clean and am a little disappointed that they don't smell fresh for a long period, however I suppose that adding more scent could make the liquid more of an irritant.
Now, for my biggest disappointment and the reason why I have only rated Fairy Non-Bio two stars - Fairy does not wash well. At first I thought that Fairy was (as it claims) leaving 'clothes brilliantly clean', that was until my Son started eating solids and generally becoming messier. Despite not overloading the washing machine and at times using 55ml of detergent for soiled clothes (even though the clothes weren't heavily soiled), Fairy No-Bio does not remove stains such as carrot, broccoli etc and leaves your whites dirty. Also, it fails to remove bits of stuck-on of porridge and weetabix from bibs and clothes, which are stubborn to remove. So why is it that Non-Bio detergents don't wash as well as Biological? It's because Non-Bio's don't contain the enzymes, which are found in Biological detergents and it's these enzymes, which remove stubborn stains, but can also irritate skin.
As I wasn't happy with the cleanliness of our clothes, when I had run out of Fairy Non-Bio I washed our clothes in Biological powder, which removed stains, left my whites looking white and our clothes smelt clean. Unfortunately it affected my Son's skin, so I have to carry on using Fairy Non-Bio until he outgrows his Eczema. Having said that I do recommend Fairy for those who do have sensitive skins as it has helped keep his eczema under control, however don't expect your clothes to come out of the wash gleaming or smelling fresh, as I don't find that it washes as well as Biological powders, which is a shame.

Advantages: Gentle and kind to sensitive skin Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
I have used Fairy non-bio since my daughter was born 8 ½ years ago. I have never liked powders as I found lots of residue on the clothes at lower temperatures, and trying to be environmentally friendly, I usually wash most things at 30 degrees.
Soon after my son was born, I was given some washing powder samples of a different brand. After a couple of days, I noticed that both children were covered in rashes. I had no idea what had caused it. It ... ...handle. It has the classic Fairy baby walking across the FAIRY lettering.
Best way to use it:
It comes with a dosing ball with a rollerball on it. You fill the dosing ball with the turquoise liquid to the appropriate line, depending on how soiled the clothing is. Any stains, you can use the rollerball to put some of the liquid directly onto the stain. Add the ball directly to the drum on top of your washing.
I find that as long as you don’t overload ...

Before I start writing about this product I must apologise for the title(its really naff)I just couldn't think of anything more truthful I'm afraid:)
Right onto the product,I used to use powder, fairy actually and found it okay, but my whites were never really white.
When you have a baby or small children they always manage to get something on their clothes!!
I find that spaghetti sauces and chocolate are the worst stains to get off,as well as fruit ... ...being messy(only kidding)but seriously (well as serious as you can get about washing clothes)I like my washing to look like it has actually been washed and doesn't just smell fresh!!
This comes in a 1,5 litre bottle and costs 3.85p depending on where you shop that is.
On the bottle front it says "best ever whiteness"and I have too say that I agree with this statement:)It gets all the stains out of my sons clothes and all the oil out of his daddies ...

Advantages: Makes clothes feel lovely Disadvantages: Where was my dosing ball?
...of my first bottle of fairy non-bio. Fairy non-bio is a liquid clothes detergent, turquoise in colour and smells really nice.
Since I have started using it I have really noticed the difference. My clothes feel lovely! They feel nice when they come out of the wash and great once they have dried. I line dry (or clothes horse dry) my clothes and one thing I have noticed is that you do not get that stiff powdery feeling on the clothes once they have ... ...week!). I have not put fairy non bio through the rigours of baby stains and washing reusable nappies yet, however I am very confident that it will remove the stains and keep baby's skin safe. I have used it on a few of the baby items such as blankets and linen just to give them an initial wash and they have come up really soft and lovely. Maybe baby will sleep....
The only thing that I have an annoyance with is that when I bought the liquid at ASDA ...

Advantages: delicate for sensitive skin Disadvantages: none
I started using fairy non-biological last year. My youngest son Nathan had been having problems with rashes and we had to keep trying to find out which one was suitable. I used to use ariel. I then tried daz, surf, persil but none of them help with his rash. I could not even use the other soap powders on our clothes because if we cuddled him it would make it appear again. I got so sick of wasting all this money trying different soap powders I phoned ... ...enough to buy not only Fairy but also the hypo-allergenic softener. In this pack was also a list of other advice saying I should always do an extra rince, how much I should use for the area I live in and the girls name I spoke to on the phone. I found this company to be helpful, friendly and very much customer orrientated.
The package is white with a light blue section on the front. It also has the trade mark of the little baby cuddling the huggably ...

Advantages: Non Bio, Smells nice Disadvantages: Expensive
I have used Fairy Non Bio ever since I left home and moved in with my partner, As he has sensative skin I had to be careful with what I washed his clothes in. His mum had previously used Fairy Non bio so I thought that I would give it a go. You only need to use the recommend amount so I find this helps.
I found it to wash my clothes well getting rid or stains even on a quick wash. It also left my clothes smelling really nice and being really soft.

for a pleasant smell. The nearest scent I can think of is lily of the valley.
Into the washing machine goes a load of washing along with a plastic ball containing my normal washingliquid, Persil Non-Bio. On the Fairy website it states that Fairy Softener is best used together with FairyNon-BioLiquidwashing detergent. The final smell of your washing will be influenced by the washing product that you use with the Softener. I only have Persil in the house so I'll have to stick with that. If you or other members who share the machine wash with you have sensitive skin, a non-bio detergent should be used.
An hour or so later and it's time to unload. I don't normally do a sniff test on wet washing, this time I will and I notice that my nicely spun washing does indeed smell good. Most of the washing now gets to be hung on the ceiling rack including ...
