I love to cook and I also love to eat, one thing that I dont like though is washing the dishes afterwards. So you can imagine my delight when I saw Ainsley on the television singing the praises of the new "Fairy Power Spray". I just had to rush out and buy this new wonder of the world.

The first thing that I noticed about the new Power Spray was the price £2.99, I felt it was a bit steep for a cleaning product that might stay in the cupboard under the sink, never to be used again. Never mind I thought nothing ventured nothing gained.

The spray bottle has all the hallmarks of a Fairy product, made by Procter & Gamble, bright green, "FAIRY" in bright red and a picture of the little fairy baby but this time he is wearing his boxing gloves, this time he means business.

I could not wait to make my homemade lasagne and try the power spray out, so that afternoon I did just that. I do put off making my lasagne because after we have eaten it is such a job to clean the lasagne dish, all that burnt on cheese and pasta it takes forever to get the dish looking clean again. Lots of elbow grease and a couple of those old soap filled cleaning pads and the dish still looked like I hadn't touched it. NIGHTMARE!!

The instructions state that it will take "Three simple steps to removing tough baked and burnt on food"

1. Allow hot surfaces to cool down, Turn the nozzle to the 'ON' position. Spray on the item WITHOUT adding water. Turn the nozzle to the 'OFF' position.

2. LET THE PRODUCT ACT FOR 10-30 MINS (DO NOT LEAVE FOR MORE THAN 30 MINS).

3. Wipe and rinse thoroughly with water. Very tough soils may need two treatments.

I followed these instructions and kept my fingers crossed, well to my delight I found that the power spray did work. Okay it doesnt work just as good as what Ainsley would have you believe, but I have found that it is certainly an improvement on my past experiences with a soap filled pad. Now what I tend to do is let the dish cool, spray with the power spray and while it is doing all the work I nip away and have a seat infront of the television, pop back give it a wipe and a rinse and thats that job done. I use it on my casserole dishes and my non stick frying pan and it works a treat.

There is however some surfaces that the power spray is not suitable for; Appliance Lettering, Varnished Wood, Paint, Copper, Kitchen Countertops, Old or Scratched Non-Stick and Kitchen Appliances. These are all clearly stated on the label as are the Instructions for use.

The power spray can be used on; Roasting Tins, Barbecue Grills, Frying Pans, Casseroles, Grill Pans, Hobs and The Inside of Oven Doors. All of which I have tried and I would say that all are correct but I dont think it works so good on my oven door I still prefer the old soap filled pad and plenty of elbow grease for that job.

As with all kitchen type cleaners the power spray is an irritant to eyes and skin so some people may prefer to wear gloves whilst using it, if gloves are not worn you must rinse hands after use.

The power spray is not tested on animals and is biodegradable.

I have been pleased with my purchase of the "Fairy Power Spray", even though it is slightly more expensive than normal washing up liquids but then it does slightly more work than other liquids. I will purchase this item again, infact my first one is about to run out so I will be putting it on my shopping list for this week.
