Fairy Fresh Lavender Washing Up Liquid

I have been known to try out other cheaper alternatives to washing up liquid, but do find myself always coming back to using Fairy and have stuck to it now for a few years as it does appear to work out far better than others in terms of actual value for money.

There is always some sort of special offer available on the Fairy Washing up liquid and I do believe last time I purchased two bottles (rather a while a go now as they do last for a fair amount of time) it was buy two large 650 ml bottles for £3 which was not brilliant but still a good saving nonetheless.

The 650 ml bottle is the largest available and has seemed to last me for a very long time as you really do only a few drops per washing up bowl to get the right amount of bubbles and cleaning ability.

The bottle is of a fairly good design and is made of clear plastic which allows you to see how much of the washing up liquid in still left inside. There is a red flip top lid which allows for easy pouring of the Fairy into the bowl but this is not overly good when it comes to getting the last few drops out of the bottle as the lid is far smaller than the rest of the bottle and its difficult to stand it upside down on it.

The labels on the bottle only give very limited information about the product but I guess this is because there really isn't too much that can be said. It gives the contact details of Fairy and of course states that it should be kept out of reach of children. Then there is the small part about rinsing your hands thoroughly after use which is actually something I didn't know before writing this!

The liquid inside the bottle is a really nice purple colour as it the product label on the front of the bottle. There is a small picture of some lavender on the front so all in all it would be fairly hard to mistakenly get this instead of the original Fairy Liquid.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this lavender fragranced washing up liquid for fear that I would smell like an old lady. I think that lavender really does have a bad reputation for being associated with the blue rinse brigade but with this fragrance they have managed to make a really appealing aroma.

The lavender scent is very strong but not as musty as I would have thought as it has a very sweet and perfumed aroma to it that I really do like. It certainly makes a change to use compared with the original scent of Fairy Washing up liquid. When I used it last night I had a shower after doing the washing up and came back into the kitchen and the fragrance of the washing up liquid really had filled the room and at first I wasn't sure what the smell was and thought I had left one of the plug in air fresheners in but I soon realised it was the Fairy!

The use of the washing up liquid is really good too. It makes plenty of bubbles with literally just a quick squirt and putting too much of the liquid in a bowl does make for a thick bubbly solution that is harder to use so I always make sure I put a small amount in as the result I find are far better. It brings up the most dirty of pans especially when in soak.

I cooked a gammon joint last night and used a honey and brown sugar glaze and once dry the oven pan literally has a thick and solid block of sugar coating on but with around half and hour of soaking in a thin mixture of the liquid the pan came up a treat!

I really rate fairy liquid in general for its cleaning ability but this Lavender fragranced one really does smell so nice with a great sweet and floral aroma that I nearly enjoy doing the washing up, nearly!

I think a score of 5 out of 5 stars is a perfect score for this product and an exceptionally high recommendation as no other product like this really does come near to the result you get with Fairy!

Many thanks for taking the time to read.

I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you.

You're right, you can't beat Fairy and I've just about tried them all! I can't stand the smell of lavender though so I tend to stick to the lemon. Great review. Nic x
