"Faithfull Anvil Lopper...."

With all of this lovely warm weather we have been having, I have made a great effort in sorting our garden out. It was never that bad really but we have been developing sections during each year we have been in the house, this year we have been working on the bottom of my garden and this is where the large shrubs and bushes were, whilst they were well developed, we needed them to be cut back and then we wanted to add a border in, nothing major but we wanted to define the shape of the garden and make it look that bit neater. The one tool that has helped me to look after the garden is my Faithfull Anvil lopper. The anvil lopper is something that I purchased when we first started clearing and developing the garden but it has been a great help during the past couple of months, here are my thoughts.

The Faithfull Anvil lopper will cost you around the £18.50 mark which I don’t think is too bad for a sturdy garden too, we didn’t shop around too much for this as we live quite close to a garden centre and as this is price competitive on other things we didn’t worry too much and made the purchase. The Faithfull brand is a reputable garden one and we have had other items from them in the past so I was happy to try this one out.

The handles on the loppers are around 30 inches in length; I have never struggled when using these, even in the more over grown sections of the garden as because the handles are quite thin, they are able to move around and through other overgrown sections. The loppers have Teflon coated blades which resist rust and also reduce friction. The oval shafts are made from carbon steel and even though this is a sturdy item, when using I have never once found them too heavy to handle.

The handles on the blades have rubber grips on them so they are really good to work with. When I first started using these I found that the grip was really good, I usually wear gloves when I am gardening but when using these I often didn't need to. The loppers were great at reaching right into the depth of the overgrown bushes and shrubs and because the handles were quote thin they seemed to weave their way in really well. The loppers were also great at cutting through quite thick branches and I was able to get a lot done in a short space of time with these.

I would have no hesitation in recommending them as they are excellent at helping you tackle the larger overgown sections of your garden. A good price to pay and really good for tool.
