Fake Bake Oil Free Moisturiser

I came across Fake Bake as they have quite a few products aimed towards re-creating a tan look and chose this particular one as it seemed to be the most subtle.

The aim of this moisturiser is to just bring out your natural colouring instead of creating an overly dramatic fake tan which is five skin tones darker than your natural one.

It doesn't contain any oil, apparently oil doesn't help the skin to absorb ...
...then apply other types of fake tan it then stings and comes up in a nasty rash. With this product I haven't had a rash at all and I think it's due to the soothing nature of these two ingredients.

I bought this last year before I got married as I didn't want to be super pale for my wedding day but at the same time I knew that I couldn't rely on the british weather to give myself a natural tan. I had thought about self tanning with sprays or sunbeds etc but I feared the side effects and streaks and just couldn't take that risk so instead hunted for something which would be a little more subtle so if any streaks did occur I wouldn't really notice!

It doesn't contain any oil, apparently oil doesn't help the skin to absorb the products in fake tans which help your skin to darken and so is pretty pointless. It contains ginger and green tea so it helps to soothe your skin too. This is something which I found very useful. If I shave and then apply other types of fake tan it then stings and comes up in a nasty rash. With this product I haven't had a rash at all and I think it's due to the soothing nature of these two ingredients.

The feel of it was quite nice too, it was very smooth and creamy not at all greasy or sticky.

I would advise that after you use it you wash your hands thoroughly just in case it does leave any tan streaks on your fingers.

I found that it made my skin feel softer and that the fake tan wasn't too dramatic which was what I wanted. I used it every day for three days running up to my wedding and if anything it just gave me a natural looking glow. It was ever so subtle.

The bottle is still virtually full as I haven't had time to use it what with having Baby Hope to look after I'm lucky if I find five minutes for a cup of tea let alone a fake bake! But when I did go to use it last weekend for a rare night out it worked fine and it still is perfectly fine despite it being a year since I've used it. The bottle is a good design as the lid is at the bottom so it's easy to squeeze out!

I would recommend this if you're looking for something subtle and delicate for your skin. If you're looking for a really in your face tan then this isn't the product for you and maybe you could try a different Fake Bake product, they do a lovely body polish with pomegrante which is really nice and they also do some other products- a self tanning mousse and a gradual fake tanning lotion.

I bought this offline for £10.95 for 170ml. I have also seen this in Boots and in some Superdrug stores.
