Advantages: Warm, friendly novel for twentysomethings Disadvantages: Too repetitive at times.
...According to the sleeve ntes, O'Flanagan is a highly successful, best seelling novelist, both in Ireland and over here in the UK. This was the frist time I had come across her books, although Isolbel's Wedding was first published in the UK in 2002. Eventually, her boss pushes her into a accepting a job in Spain.
This proves to be Isobel's turning point - socialising, flirting, exploring on her own, she has to sort out the new Isobel from the old version, and face her old demons back in Dublin.
I was surprised at the limtied range of characters, which I thought quite homogenous. There are several generations of family members, and a circle of friends depicted, but only one (minor) character is gay, adn few characters actually realise that he is. It is only after many pages.Isobel only summs up the courage to ask him if he has...

Advantages: Great party ideas, also down the cost. Disadvantages: None
...Never done a book review, so here goes.
Children’s parties by Judy Williams.
I don’t know about you but I find it really difficult having to decide on what to make for children’s parties, instead of the usual sausage rolls and sandwiches so while I was browsing through Amazon one day I came across this book by familycircle that gives you ideas on party themes and recipes for that special occasion.
I will run through all the different sections:
First part of the book Gives you advice on planning a party like planning ahead, how many guests to invite? What sort of food to make? should you have prizes? As well as giving you some table decoration tips and all types of party games which I thought was really interesting as some of the games I never even heard of for e.g. MUSICAL MATS. Save a newspaper and spread the pages over...

...The writer Gabriel Jose Garcia Marquez was born on March 6, 1928. One Hundred Years of Solitude is his great work and most famous novel.Like his other writings, there is some truth and fiction in this tale. One Hundred Years of Solitude is a personal book for the author.Careful readers of this book will recognize many of his experiences in the book. He often claims that first duty of a writer is to write well. This book is combination of his own memories and imagination. As the characters in the novel, In general, children grow up quickly, but when they are adults time abandons them.Time abandons Colonel Aureliano after the civil war, and Jose both of them locked in Melquiades' laboratory, refusing to join the world. In later years when Ursula considers her family time appears to be moving in a circle. Time is moving in a circle...

Advantages: An excellent story. Disadvantages: None
...of the Corleone family, and Puzo later went on to write a novel about the Borgia family (The Family).
The Last Don is centred around the Mafia family the Clericuzio and their Godfather Don Domenico, now I don't want to get too involved with the plot, I want you to go and read the book for yourself and not spoil it for you by giving too much away here, but in a nutshell, the story centres around the Don's attempts to create a crime free life for his grandchildren, have them move in circles far less shady than their predecessors and the steps he has to take to ensure this.
The story begins in 1965 at the christening of the Don's two grandchildren Dante and Croccifixio, It is perhaps interesting to note that The Godfather starts at a Wedding in 1945, two great family occasions from the great family storyteller.
The Don has called together all his family...

Advantages: Really captures the imagination. A classic Disadvantages: should have made a movie
...You know, I first read this book when I was 9 (I am now 33). Since that time I have lost count of the number of times I read it. This book was a leather bound book sat In my mothers book case (I own it now).
Unlike the lord of the rings, the book centres around a hobbit called bilbo bagins. The book initially goes into great depth describing where hobbits live what they are and aren't! What they do and don't!
This particular hobbit had previous generations of family who walked in slightly different circles to that of regular hobbits and so it was inevitable that one day he would walk in those circles too.
In demonstrating this Tolkien immediately used a character called Gandalf (he was a wizard). Gandalf opened the door to those different circles, which obviously the hobbit (reluctantly) went through.
The story begins with Gandalf...
