I was searching through a suitcase yesterday of photos and came across a folder. Inside, was a screwed up piece of paper. I read the words, and soon, it all fitted into place. It was a poem from my mother to my sister, who died aged twelve after being run-over. The poem is so awesome, I really wanted to share it with others. I never really knew that my mother was a poet, but this shows it. (Rhyme intended).
A thousand prayers won't ... ...will a thousand tears,
I know because I've cried.
You left behind some broken hearts
Some wonderful memories too, but I never
Wanted memories, Mel
I only wanted you.
Our heart still aches with sadness, and silent tears still flow
What it meant to lose you Mel, no-one will ever know
But of all the lovings thing's in life
However great or small.
To have a daughter like you, ... more
I was searching through a suitcase yesterday of photos and came across a folder. Inside, was a screwed up piece of paper. I read the words, and soon, it all fitted into place. A thousand prayers won't bring you back I know because I've tried, neither will a thousand tears, I know because I've cried. You left behind some broken hearts Some wonderful memories too, but I never Wanted memories, Mel I only wanted you.
Our heart still aches with sadness, and silent tears still flow What it meant to lose you Mel, no-one will ever know But of all the lovings thing's in life However great or small. To have a daughter like you, was the greatest gift of all.
I look at the clock at twenty-past-four Wishing you would knock on the door And when the time goes by, all I want to do is cry.
If I searched the whole world over, Until the end of time, I would never find a daughter as wonderful as mine. And if there is another life and we are born once more, I pray that God would give us back the daughter we had before.
In that room so filled with love, Our eyes turn to God above, With silent words and thoughts we prayed, Oh how we wish you could have stayed. The good times we'll remember, and the sad ones too. But the worst day of our lives, Mel. Was the day that we lost you.
Sweet is your memory, Precious your name Close to our hearts, You will always remain.
If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane I'd walk up right to heaven and bring you home again.Thank you for reading this poem that now has me with tears rolling down my eyes! I'm not sure I'll get rated or whatever for this, because it wasn't my own words, but my Mother knows I have posted it and she's quite proud in a suttle way. I just wanted to share this to you lot.

...I can do this for family members, but nothing can compare with seeing your own name in print, especially since the poem meant so much to me. This is a small British company called Dogma Publications and only offer a small amount of prize money. The idea is to help new poets to become better known and I feel they are a very genuine company. The British Press have spoken highly of this company that promotes new poets, I, for one, feel they achieve ...

MY CHILDREN
My children, my purpose
My heart and my soul
My gift from the heavens
Forever betrothed
Explore and discover
Within boundaries safe
Be what you believe in
Have courage and faith
Listen to guidance
But trust in yourself
Deeds not words matter
Your will is your wealth
With strength, independence
And confidence too
Go forth and enjoy
A life that suits you
My children, my purpose
With infinite worth
From body and mind
... ...my womb protected you
my milk made you strong
with love I nurture you
teach you right from wrong
each day I am so proud of you
as I watch you grow
with praise and encouragement
I let my love show
your eyes make my heart melt
your smile brings me joy
I love you more than anything
you're my 'BIG' little boy!
AMBER (7)
Amber you're an angel a joy to all you meet
you bring happiness to life

You've always been ...

The pair of you together,
Were trouble from the start,
The twins of various mischief,
You never were apart.
If one was sad the other too,
And both of you would cry,
If one set fire to the rug,
The other watched it fry.
I remember when you came to stay,
And shaved the poor old cat,
You said he'd needed sorting,
Cause he'd looked just like a prat.
The laughs we had when dear old gran,
Was sleeping in her chair,
And you two gave her face ... ...times have gone,
Replaced by eerie sadness,
The evil loss of someone great,
Can drive some folk to madness.
But never mind the crazy days,
For buried in my soul,
Live memories that I can keep,
And choose to re-unfold.
I watched you fall, I saw it happen,
And never did I reason,
That suddenly your heart had stopped,
An organ with such treason.
And now although the winter's set,
We may as yet unthaw,
If only we could stick together,
...

...Ours not the perfect family in the land,
We trudged along like a motley band,
Growing older,and wiser perhaps,
Forever studying destiny's maps.
Then the day we hear the first fateful event,
The death of father brings a woeful lament,
A few years later and mother follows on,
We now drift aimlessly ,sorrowfully along,
But no there seems to be no end of pain,
A brother and a sister are lost in vain.
Two parents and seven children together,
... ...Alas there is but one left now,
Just one to remember how,
The happy band of a large family,
Have all gone, and just left me.
I feel so alone, so lost , so weak,
I have many thoughts, none to speak,
I am the last, the remaining child,
I stand by myself a man beguiled,
With all the knowledge we wonder how,
To find them, where are they now. ...

Advantages: something I need to say Disadvantages: it will hurt like hell
...your death we drifted,
the family fell apart,
I could not do as you had done,
I did not have the heart.
Two sisters and two brothers.
most live far away,
they get on with their own lives
but I am here to stay.
I allways was the one to care,
to look after you and dad,
I find it hard to let you go,
my heart is still too sad.
My memories as so special,
you both were to me my life,
I remember all you problems,
the worry and the strife.
... ...in your care,
whenever I was sad or troubled,
you allways would be there.
Of all the granchildren you had,
my daughter you loved the best,
So I know you would not be unhappy,
if my daughter was my guest.
Anniversaries seem the right time, to visit you and say,
I miss you both and love you, I need you both today.
To me there are no right times,
to see you both, I guess,
Go with my heart and tell you,
Goodnight to you, God bless.
In memory ...

Sorry, it's just another of those annoying poems I feel I have to write. I know it appears morbid but I'll leave any interpretation down to the reader.
Remember Me
*****************
Remember me when I'm gone
remember me with rhyme and song.
For I've become the rugged dale,
the rolling moor,
I'm winters veil.
The rain that falls on window pane,
the frost patch underneath the shade.
They are me I'm still close by,
my voice is now the wind that sighs.
Remember me on sunny days,
as the sun sends forth its rays.
For I am now that warming glow,
I am the seed, the farmer sows.
Leave your footprints in the sand,
I'll be there at your right hand,
to guide you through the lonely years.
See the waves? They are my tears.
The Reaper dealt deaths vicious blow.
I'll still be there when you are low,

For Sarah (Trampus) a real life angel who encouraged me so much in my early days of ciao and i am proud to have known her.
I would like to send my deepest condolenses to all of Sarah's family and close friends before beginning this poem.
For You -
Sitting here on ciao we think of you
We sit and look for your name to appear
Always a message in our guest book?s
Of support.
We glance and check across the site
To see if anyone else hears of you that night.
We miss you so much Sarah,we keep telling you.
You gave us all the encouragement we all so much needed.
Still we look out for your name, only louder,
As the tears roll down our faces,
We glance around ciao when we think of you
Your face it says you are at peace now.
Although we will always miss you. ...
